Yeah, thats the ticket!
Mr. McEwen:
Congrats to you -- you have me crying with laughter. One of the best in a long while.
prank, frunk . . . brilliant.
And as to defamation suits, and all the legalese noted above, I say psshaw! We jus' be tellin' it like it is.
I started building my car in 2009, took delivery (as promised) in early 2010, and, like the Cathedral in Cologne, Germany, it still isn't finished :-).
Carey probably has a dedicated server just for my email correspondence.
Always straightforward, honest, delivers on time, and exceeds my expectations.
Yes, and so does Henry at IM, as his numerous customers will attest to.
Meanwhile . . .
How's that build coming along?? Any news??
"Tank and pump in the frunk."
Are you sure it isn't:
Pank and fump in the trunk, or
Fank and tump in the prunk, or
Anyway, no matter how you say it, it sounds cool.

From the YouTube video? Yes it is indeed Barbara Billingsley aka June Cleaver.

Spoke to John on Friday.
They are in the process of programming the 3 pre-set ride heights for the air suspension. Once that is done and tested...it just leaves the interior to be finished.

That car riding on 17's & slammed is soooo bad-a$$!
^^ Much Appreciated!
See, just ask and you shall receive.
Brandon,
That is certainly going to be a coupe many of us are going to want to see. If it is delivered before May is there any chance you might bring it to Carlisle and show it off?

Thanks for the interest.
I've never been to Carlisle…is there a show there in the spring?
It will be coming home to central Florida. If anyone is near Orlando I would love to meet up.
Just thinking out loud here, but John S. somehow usually has cars at Carlisle. Maybe he could deliver it to you at Carlisle and you could bring it back from there. I know I can't speak for you or John, just a thought.
Brandon: I hope you can work something out. John often "delivers" cars by bringing them to Carlisle. There might be an opportunity to get the main shipping (coast-to-coast) costs down if John can use your car at his booth for advertising. You'd have to work that out w/ him, of course. Just sayin'.
On the other hand, you might not want to wait until then. In which case you'll just have to drive it Carlisle in May. You'd be able to hook up w/ folks coming up on the southeast caravan departing from points in Arkansas, So Carolina, Tenn, and I am not sure where else. Look at the So East caravan thread here under Events
Tom Lorenz (Pepespeed) from the Orlando area is prepping to come up with another Floridian (Crawdad ?), so you could hook up with those guys. Tom might even have a new Speester by then. I should let Tom speak for himself...Shut up, Rich!
Brandon, check out the Carlisle threads in the Events section and look for some of Jim Ignacio's videos. That will give you an idea what we're always yammering about this time of year. Technically it is the Carlisle Import and Kit Nationals and it takes place in the middle of May. It is the largest kit car show (and possible the largest import show) in the US, and we have our own "event within an event" in which we gather around a hundred folks every year. It will greatly increase your enjoyment of that cool car if you get involved with this group of crazies - myself excluded, of course.
I was talked into this adventure 5 years ago and have only missed one since. As I always say, it is so good to put a face and personality to all these wonderful people here. It really is worth the trip if you can afford the time.
Rich, frazerk1, Lane,
Great information and suggestions. I will definitely look at the Carlisle threads....and about John possibly covering some transport costs. If the timing works out and the car is finished just before mid May then I would be very open to this idea. Sounds like fun!
I agree Rich, its always nice to put a face with a name... I've met some really great people at car shows.
Even if you can't drive your coupe, think about coming anyway. It's a lot of fun and you will make friends that last forever.
Brandon,
Crawdad-Dennis (CF East Coast) and I intend to drive up to Carlisle.
I reside in Oviedo and would be happy to meet up with you. Question is: days to drive up and back. Send me a dialog and we can talk on the phone before the event.

Brando,
BTW: frazerk1 = Kelly
Note to self: perhaps you could change your profile and be more -- personable.
Nah, Kelly, it's not your profile that's the problem.
Brandon: All of these cars require some time to get everything sorted out as they are not stamped out by machine but rather hand built by imperfect and inconsistent humans. Don't get discouraged early on when some things aren't quite right. The car is looking very nice. I'd love to see it at Carlisle, but it's not a requirement for attendance.
I do not always agree w/ Lane -- shoot, nobody does -- but I'll second his notion here: If the car is not available by Carlisle time (although it looks pretty close to done in these pics), or you have it and are concerned about taking such a long trip in a new, and potentially un-sorted car, find some other way to get to south-central PA in May. We look fwd to the meet & greet.
PS: now El Frazoo = Kelly
Kelly & Lane,
This carlisle event definitely has my interest and I will try to make it....car or not.
Will you guys be displaying cars there?
"All of these cars require some time to get everything sorted out as they are not stamped out by machine but rather hand built by imperfect and inconsistent humans."
Now that's what I keep telling my wife on my CMC build - fine craftsmen like fine wine can't be rushed.
I had a blast the year I went and wished I could have made them all. Great time with great people!
Most of us will have our cars with us. After 8 trips from Charleston, SC to Carlisle, PA and back I am tempted to drive my daily ride, but the guys on this site have been pretty merciless - particularly Kelly who only lives a couple of hours away. Curse you El Frazoo!!!!!!!
Oh Wolfie, yours may be turning to vinegar by now.
Lane, Lane, Lane -- I love ya man, I hope you know that. Raggin' on you would not be nearly so much fun but for the fact that you so richly deserve it -- and (the important part): you can take it. And Brandon, go look on the events thread and see the couple of postings about Carlisle. Some pics, and videos (by our own Cecli B. de Ignacio, aka, MUSBJIM) are there. "Do any of you show your cars there?" Well sh** yeah, we pretty much all do, and the "showing" is very casual -- the folks at Carlisle call it the "Fun Field". Go to their site, look it over, buy your ticket (cheap) and we'll see you there. There ought to be about 50 Speedsters, Spyders and assorted other knuckleheads in our group.
Brandon, there is usually 40-50 Speedsters and a sprinkling of Spyders at Carlisle each year. Here's a few shots from last year, maybe someone else will post a few more too.
