I don't think I've ever seen a JPS with a padded dash. Interesting.

My 2002 JPS had one.
Looks like a nice example. But twice he says "5-lug wheels" and those are later Mangles, with 4 lugs, unless someone did some very unusual customization.
And what's up with that gap between the body and front bumper?
First thing that caught my eye was that the front bumper over-ridders were placed wrong. They cover the corner of horn grill.
I knew you guys would see things I wouldn't. I thought it was odd there's no pics of the motor.

The bumper is straight and doesn't follow the contours of the body like mine. (VS built)

These are less than flattering angles. I think Kirk needs some better bumper molds. Greg's right- the bumper guards are w-a-y out there on the corners. Ed's right as well- those are 4-lug wheels.
Robert....Your right, someone carved out the top of the bumper to the point it looks straight rather than have that curve in the center to follow the curve of the body. With this done you can't move the bumper back any more without the bumper ends coming in contact with the body. So what do you get ? A nice view of the bumper brackets and the road. Aesthetically, it looks unfinished and awkward. The rest of the car looks nice though ! Good question...why no engine photo's ?
I think its a rear bumper put on the front!

NO ENGINE PHOTOS because 8 MICE on a treadmill and 2 of them went on STRIKE because they want SWISS CHEESE instead of stinky GERMAN LIMBURGER

I think you're right.
Amazing.
Actually looks like it is upside down. If you look close, the bottom side looks like it has the curves.
Kirk's (Vintage's) front bumper is molded to match the contours of the car. That is what you see in Robert's picture.
Like Stephen said...front bumper is upside down.
Btw, the front wheels look REALLY far back in the fender wells!
If that bumper is really upside down, I would be suspicious that there was a front end collision and the repair shop didn't know what they were doing. The car definitely did not come from JPS with the bumper upside down.
Chip Foose does this (flip the bumper) all the time...It's custom!
Dash looks hideous.
It's interesting that it has glass turn signals rather than the plastic white ones.
It's also interesting that the dash vinyl does not extend to the edge of the dash, which is a pretty typical trait of JPS cars.
Overall, it looks likes a nice car, there are just some strange things about it.
Just when you thought you were done for the year Troy- this could be your next project car!
Pretty hard to work on Speedsters while you're in Costa Rica.
Good point.
That JPS is very pretty.

Troy, where are you in Costa Rica?
I spent some time there last Winter in the jungles on the Caribbean coast near Tortuguero National Park and then up to the Lake Arenal to do some hiking, zip lining and see the active volcanoes. Absolutely beautiful area that I plan to spend more time in, in retirement.
I have friends that live on the Tamarindo side, way too hot and humid for much of the year for me but then again, that's the best weather up here.
We aren't there yet, but will be in November. Plan to be there for four months, but haven't decided where yet. Definitely on the west coast and Tamarindo is on our list.
