Saw that on evilBay earlier. Very nice looking. I love that color combination.
God forbid, it's the car Todd recommended the other night!
I like it! Fly up there Gazi and take it for a test drive.
Rich you are correct, this is the dealership in Atlanta Todd posted about. They have another coupe listed, looks like they are a dealer for Vintage too. http://www.southatlantamotorsp...mobile/mdefault.aspx
haha.. Gazi, there is another lively thread about these cars. As far as I know, there is nothing at all wrong with these.
The other thread touched on the passionate topic of build, have built, buy used, or buy new from a dealer.
Since these were built for a dealer, expect to pay more then you would if you went to JPS directly (dealer profit + JPS profit). Also, you miss the fun of having the car custom built to your specs / whims. Now, if you are an instant gratification sort, this is a good opportunity for you.
if the $ was right & I wanted it I would get it as fast as I could.thats waht I realy want instead of a speedster. but we all cant have what we want, just some of you can.
Gazi is not about instant gratification, but analysis paralysis :-)
Gazi, you're a tough sale. I'm sure you could get a center gas cap installed without too much difficulty as well as a roll bar. The roll bar would be my second choice, after all, one does not buy a boat to sink it. Besides, you'll be toast if you roll it anyway.
If I am not mistaken, Carrera Coachworks had some photos posted on their site of that operation taking place on one of their cars just recently. A hole must obviously be cut in the hood and the necessary plumbing added to the filler tube.
While we are on this subject, who knows the story on the 4-holed gas cap? It seems to be "the thing" to have. Is there some history to it. Bruce has one I know.
THAT is a nice looking car, not gonna lie.
I don't think that the statement "smog exempt in all 50 states" is accurate. My VS was registered as a 1968 VW and about a year after I purchased it (used) I got a notification to bring it in for a smog check. Something may have changed since then (11 years ago) but I doubt it. Anybody in Illinois care to comment on the current state of affairs regarding this issue?
Maybe a 32 /33 year old automobile (11 years ago) wasn't old enough and still subject to emission criteria.
I like your sense of humor, Todd.
If was in the market for a coupe I would be first in line.
It's simple to do the gas tank latch on hood, just a matter of about a day to do the work. It's not that fun, though, to carefully guide a gas nozzle over your immaculately painted hood with your bare hand under it hoping to keep from spilling. We're playing around with side fill with machined gas cap and right mounted hood filler on our next Outlaws.
Putting the gas cap in the center of the hood seems like a hell of a lot of work. On top of that, there is always the worry of spilling gas on the paint. Personally, I like my set-up-open the trunk and take off the gas cap. No big deal if a few drops of fuel drip on the gas tank.
The only downside is people always come over to see what I'm doing.

I AGREE
35900 FOR THAT COUPE WITH A/C AND A 2110 IS A ROCKING DEAL FOR SOMEONE WHO DOES NOT WANT TO WAIT 4 TO 6 MONTHS.
This car rocks!
Senor Gazi, I believe that's an oil filler cap. I've seen a hundred pics of this car, I'm quite certain that the gas filler is center mounted on the front bonnet.
That is one bada$$ outlaw.
Putting the gas tank in the back would create a very spooky weight imbalance.
I belive the right fender filler access was incorporated with the twin grill 'B' model and continued through the 'C'. I had a single grill 'B' and the filler cap was still under the front hood.
Wrong assumtion Gazi !
The through the hood filler cap was a racing adaptation so the pit crew didn't have to lift the hood!!!
