For those of you who don't live in D.C., I shot some photos of the local fireworks. I took these from Whipple Field on Ft. Myer, just up the street from the Marine Corps War Memorial (better known as the Iwo Jima).
Like the building implosion last month, it's just a series of "event" photos I thought y'all might enjoy. I'll be deleting the pictures in a week or two.
I have the good fortune to work right up the hill behind Arlington House (the Custis-Lee mansion) adjacent to Arlington National Cemetery. This is probably the best venue freely available for the D.C. show.
Cheers.

I'm pretty lucky - my company is based in Fairfax VA., and we go "down-town" every time I'm out there. Usually business, but the weekends are mine.
I grab my bike, load up on the Metro and go! Arlington is a must see (walking the bike not riding). So many graves, so many names... The changing of the guard at the Tomb is amazing. Then start riding the bike. Everywhere you look there are sculptures, monuments, exhibits and museums. One trip with the kids, we spent three full days going through the downtown area and did NOT even come close to seeing everything.
If you have the chance, go at night. On my last trip, a group of us headed downtown for dinner. The monuments are lit in the evenings. They are absolutely gorgeous.

Anyone visiting the area who wants a behind-the-scenes look, just let me know.
Cory, you do mean the topless clubs, right?

You bet'cha, Vince -- but just for YOU.
I was a professional sailor for more than a decade and a half. Even now, as a reservist, I can probably still navigate the bowry district.
Or, if you're into the Amish ... Pennsylvania's an hour away ...

Hey Vince!
The last time I was in a DC topless joint, I got a lap dance from a blind stripper. Her name was :. .:: .:. ::.!
