Bruce,
I have a much better looking trunk that actually fits the car
better and you can see over it, but of course its not "large"
enough...I'm afraid to look inside after the wife packs all the "Things" she absolutely needs to be gone overnight...I get a small duffel that fits inside the cabin.....
Simillar to the closet in the house, I have 2 feet she has 20...
But if there is one thing I have learned over the years, is that
"the one that holds the goods, Rules" She Rocks.....
If you get my drift..........
After the fun we had on the Del Coronado Run some
showed interest in another run.
Let's take a count for a June Wine Tour run in Solvang.
In the past, We have headed up to Solvang on a Sat. morning
met in Solvang and started a planned route to the many different
wineries usually stopping for a pot luck picnic at the Fes Parker Winery.
After lunch, we complete the remaining wineries and end up in Solvang
for dinner. The groups I have gone with have opted to stay overnight
in Solvang and make the run back to home Sunday morning.
It makes for a really nice weekend getaway.
How's June 19th?

Kevin,
Wife would like to know...
1.Why you changed the date for the wine run because it was next to fathers day, yet we went to The Hotel Del the day before mothers day...
I'm not trying to cause trouble here but it is a ligit question..
Which I couldn't answer....(she was only kidding, she could really care less, but she did ask the question)
2. Approximate itinerary for this run, so that we may decide
(she may decide) to stay at a bed and breakfast for the night...
(where is the last stop on our journey) Kevin, I'm sorry to say Rack and trunk could be in tow if we spend the night somewhere....
I did notice a trailer on a speedster, in the Carlile pictures, but I didn't show it to my wife..no trailer hitches in this family...
She likes these little cruises, but spending the night somewhere
different kinda adds to the whole experience...I agree...
oooops...My wife just walked by and read my post.....
Now she knows about the trailer...she also said I make her sound like
a nagging wife, and that I'm pussy whipped.....
She is actually the perfect wife, and what a way to be whipped.....

Kevin, looks like you had an interesting day in the canyons....
The guy in the Ferrari must have been a frigging idiot......
Unless you were the one driving it, then, nice move...
I got good news and Maybe some bad news, good news first........
No trailer, bad news is I may be bringing Rack and trunk, depending
on our final destination....Its worse news for me, because I hate both Rack and trunk, butt......
Anyway when you figure out our route, I will know better what my final plans will be, The further south we are at the end of the day could mean no overnighter..so thanks in advance for putting this together.........
Hi guys,
Sorry I was out driving this weekend and just checked the forum.
I will have a flyer with the itinerary ready this week.
Still going over maps to lay out the "perfect" route.
If Vince is going to have a trailer I better avoid any twisties. : )
No Mom bashing here! I had a few people respond that they were out of town that weekend visiting their Dads and there is a PCA event that weekend that a couple people were planning on attending. So just the usual reason, trying to please all the people all the time.

Hi David,
I'm great, unlike the guy in these pics.
I did a run with the FDC this morning through the Malibu mountains in the Pantera and one of the cars got a little hot in the corner. Four more feet and he would have been an Italian bobsled, luckily only his ego was bruised.
It did back up quite a few exotics for awhile!

OK, here's the plan:

Saturday, the 26th, we'll meet in the "valley" off the 101 Freeway just past the 405 junction at 8am Saturday morning and head up the 101/154 to Los Olivos, a quaint western town in the Santa Ynez Valley, once in Los Olivos we'll stretch our legs and gas up. After this short rest we'll head north from Los Olivos and turn onto Foxen Canyon Road. Here we'll start our Foxen Canyon Wine Tour. The Foxen Canyon Wine Trail is a great scenic country byway that travels through the vineyards and rolling hills of ten local wineries. We'll make our first stop at the Firestone Winery then the Curtis Winery and next we'll head to the Fess Parker Winery where we'll have our potluck picnic lunch. After lunch we'll head north and have a casual afternoon visiting the remaining wineries. After a great afternoon of fine wines, fine friends, and fine cars, we'll head into Solvang and have dinner downtown at the famous New Danish Inn at 6pm. Some of us will be staying the night in Solvang and others will be heading back into LA that evening. This should be a great day to experience some unique cars and unique So. Cal. culture.

I'll have a map and more detailed specifics for all who RSVP.
Let me know what item you plan to bring for the potluck picnic.

Cruising our cars is an experience all its own, but being in a
caravan of speedsters/spyders is another great way to enjoy our rides.
Besides, SOME of the guys/gals on this site are actually OK....
I'm talking about the ones who don't whine about why they can't join in....I encourage those within a reasonable distance to join us on the 26th for this wine run In the hills surrounding Santa Barbara..
I drink Scotch, preferably single malt,But Being Sicilian, I will have
a glass (or two) of Chianti on occasion (all the time)...Soooo, it doesn't matter if your a wine con-a-sewer or not...
Be a part of this unique adventure, and join us.......
Anna,
Welcome to the Speedsterowners web site....

Although most of the Owners ARE men, We Don't bite (very hard)
and you will find we do have several Women among us...
So you can feel perfectly at home here.....

Our "club" as you put it, is world wide and mostly on the internet...
We did have a West coast gathering at Knotts last Month and there was also an East coast gathering a few weeks ago, but basically, its a chat thing on line sharing information, and experiences.....etc..

Judging by the response so far for the Wine run, it appears most
local (so. cal.) owners have better things to do with their time.
Besides myself,Kevin, and David S. from Long Beach you seem to be
only the 4th person to respond so far, and there is less than 3 weeks
to go.....sooooo, keep an eye out to this thread for additional information, and hopefully we can add a few more cars in the next few weeks....Welcome aboard....

Vince you may need to go into the registry section and send off an E-mail to all the locals to get them in gear. This worked for the DEL run. It may be to much work. But it's going to be so much fun. What ever happen to Dan P. He should be able to make it. Murphy how the hell have you been long time no talk.
Hey David! I'm doing great.

Vince,
We've got a couple 550s committed from the Spyder side.
The direct email to the SoCal Spyders went out this week and I'm starting to get feedback.
I've got a couple off brand cars committed as well.
I was wondering how I was going to get the cooler for the picnic in my Spyder but these guys will have room to carry it.

Murph
David,
Work keeps me to busy to be contacting all the yocals, I mean locals..
screw them if they don't come to the sight for updates on what is going on.. Part of the fun of owning one of these is this web sight...
Kevin,
Glad to hear you are busy trying to get some spyder guys motivated,
and the others also....
At this point in time with my other commitments, I can only be responsible for myself showing up, and perhaps a little sarcasm
on this site.......
