June Wine Tour Run

Vince, I'll be coming up from Newport Beach area. What time are you planning to rendevous at the 405/Artesia?

If we need to be in the Valley at 8:00 I think we need to meet
about 7:15, leaving by 7:30, at that hour it shouldn't take
but about 30-40 minutes to get there....
David, are you there.....are you in for the 7:30 leaving Redondo?

Just FYI there is another VW show in Sept 24, 25 ,26 in Solvang

Friday is the Toy and Literature show
Saturday is the Show and swap meet
Sunday is the Wine tour and caravan
This is for pre 1967 cars only

If there is any interest I am going there also

My wife and I are in. Not sure if we'll spend the night in Solvang yet. Put me down for coldcuts/cheese/assorted peppers, etc. for the potluck.

Kevin I made a call to John at JPS this morning and the parts are in the booth right now getting sprayed and they will have them under lamps all after noon. I work on friday all day and he will have everything ready to install and devier by 6pm Friday I have no Idea how I will pic up the car Friday night but I will try my hardest.

Thank God! I had it all F-up! Here I thought it was this weekend. Cool! Game on. Vince I will be able to meet up with you for the run. The new head rest cover is going to be looking great.

OKay, I don't want to seem overly excited about this wine run,
but we need to firm a few things up before friday....
Kevin...where is the exact spot of our meeting at 8:00 saturday
morning....
David and Joe...we will be meeting at the starbucks just off the
Artesia exit to the 405, can't get lost, 405 north to Artesia,
only can go one way, RIGHT, Starbucks is on the right after the
right onto Artesia....Right?......7:15-7:30.....
That should get us to Kevins location by 8:00.........

works for me. Starbucks, take 87 north until you hit Albany then a right turn toward the Hudson River...

Then continue north until you stop at this counter where a guy asks, where you goin' eh? Surrounded by Canadian flags. Then continue about 3 hours more and bring me some of that wine.

Here's the details for this Saturday the 26th:

8:00 am meet at the Mobile station just north of the 101 at the White Oak exit off the 101 in Encino

8:15 am head up the 101 north to the 154 into Los Olivos

10:15 am regroup and gas up in Los Olivos at the Chevron station

10:30 am head out on Foxen Canyon Wine Trail for wine tasting

12:00 am picnic lunch at the Fess Parker Winery

1:00 am head out on Foxen Canyon Wine Trail for wine tasting

6:00 pm dinner at the New Danish Inn in Solvang

After dinner? Some will take a sunset caravan back to L.A..
And some are staying the evening in Solvang.


I will have Deli Sandwiches and Sodas for the Picnic.
If you can bring a desert or side that would be great!

Also, if anyone has room for a cooler in their car please let me know.
My Spyder is a little tight on space!

Oh, If you have an FRS 2 way radio you might want to bring it and don't forget the sunscreen.

Just finished detailing the car, had the prosciutto & melon all prepared for the pot-luck, and my wife comes home from 2 days on the road with a full-blown flu. DOH!
