Todd,

Welcome to the club and the wonderful world of Spyder ownership!
I don't live in South Georgia, but today with 100 degree heat and 70+ humdity, it sure feels like I do.

Typically we recommend for you to "sort out" your car as soon as it arrives. Don't assume your car was assembled at the Porsche factory. I would check the tightness of every bolt and screw.
Many times you may need a little adjustment on the shiftage linkage.
When I first drove my Spyder, I had to lift my right buttocks to get it into reverse. It's an easy adjustment, if you have a friend to
sit in the car, or one really long and limber arm.

I own/have owned 911s and S Audis. I was suprised at the acceleration and how easy the Spyder is to drift. At 1247 lbs and 124 hsp, my car is a mouse compared to Angela's moose, but it's still should be taken seriously when you are driving. Once you get used to it's quirks, I'm betting it will be your favorite car you have ever owned.

In addition to Spyder Owner's Club, check out our friends at spyderclub.com.

Have fun,
Keith
Hello Keith,

Thanks for the reply, my Spyder is being built with a cable shifter set up that I was told makes shifting a whole lot easier than the rod type shift linkage.

I will double check everything once it arrives at the house, I currently have two other P-car's (996 C2 and 911 SC)and a un-finished Speedy (03 Street Beast 356 C)kit that I will be selling.

Todd
