Just bought some 99 Miata seats

I am going to hack off the top and try to make them look more speedsterish. They fit pretty good in the car (CMC) and are going to be leaps and bounds better than the old seats I had. Being able to fold the seats up and back makes them way more comfortable. Lets see what kind of design I can pull off once I gut them and see what the frame looks like.

Ok guys here is a 99 miata seat gutted. Damn things are foamed in pretty good. Now I need some advice and ideas.

Can you guys tell me the dimensions on the bucket seat shells? The bottom section is 15 inches wide where the padding fits in and I am thinking of taking a half inch out of the middle so that they fit a little better inside the car.
