Hey Guys, i just bought this sweet pea project. Super excited about it. Anyone have any info on it? I'll be honest i don't know much about it at all.

Finally, someone found a use for all those big invasive boa constrictors taking over the FL everglades (the seats).
Looks to be a CMC Speedster C (California). The Sxxxx riveted plate is the CMC invoice # (CMC supplied a gold plate with the #). Does it have windup windows (small vent windows by windshield)?

I can see an up/down button in the next to last photo and I can see the small wing window too Greg, so I'm guessing that has the roll up windows. Now wether or not they work is another story.
Here's the sales pitch on wind-up window option from CMC. This looks different - but a clever solution. CMC was single piece of glass (a chevette?) and taller windshield posts.

As many of you know, I owned one of the roll up window cabriolet style CMC Californian cars some years back. I liked it. Your car looks like it has some unique features. Does the AC work currently? The roll up windows make it a usable amenity. Good luck with it and I hope you enjoy it.

I was wondering what the center front grill openings were - assumed to replica the early 356 but now assume it's for the AC condenser located in the nose. The 911 shroud sure makes the engine look more accessible. Any idea of engine build/capacity?
I have no clue guys. Thank you for all the insight. I just bought this car from the Florida flood. I haven't received it yet. Still in transport. Oddly enough the CMC Plate Vin# is the same as my Vin number? Or am I confused? Thats what it seems like.
I can't wait to get it and get all into it. Looks like a Widebody Outlaw build yea?
And anyone have insight on the side view mirrors? They look like G body mirrors.
The mirrors don't look bad though --- I would have mounted them a bit higher. Hope engine wasn't submerged as it looks interesting. From Ft Myer's South FL area?
Most are registered with the donor's VW pan chassis # (Not a true VIN since not 17 characters) as it's easiest to do and is resellable most anywhere. Perhaps yours is on an optionally available Metal Crafter's tubular chassis - which would be a plus (it wouldn't have had a VIN). See if you are able to get PO contact info - would be interesting to see what you have.

I can hear the pan rusting from here.
I bought my Manx from Florida. While not a “flood car,” it was described as “used as an actual beach buggy.” It didn’t look too bad when I got it, but within a year both floors had rusted through to the point I simply pulled the seats out and they came out with a 1’x1’ section of the pan. I ended up buying a whole new pan and starting over.

@Troy Sloan are they called Vitaloni side mirror 😎
I'm sorry, but that was like 40 years ago and I don't remember. I just know they were replicas of the 930 mirrors.
Always loved those Alfas.

Giving it to my son for his 30th birthday was one of the best things I ever did. Sadly, it’s suffering from one of the few maladies it’s ever experienced since we owned it: either the carrier bearing or one of the driveshaft roller bearings is toast.
Found picture of the old Porsche the front replicas (kind of).

Looks like a nice platform for a project. Unfortunately, looking at the pictures it looks like it has been totally submerged in flood waters going by the stains on top of the air cleaners which suggests water got at least that high or more. This one would need to be disassembled completely, gone over and rebuilt bolt by bolt; especially the floorpan or chassis.
I've used Corroseal available at Lowes/Amazon/HD successfully on a Toyota Chassis and some farm implements. $50 for 128 oz from Lowes. It can be brushed or sprayed on. Goes on like white thin paint but dries quickly to a hard black finish. Doubt it would disperse salt water but perhaps pressure wash everything, let it dry then use a garden sprayer to treat it. I'd do it inside the center tunnel too. Engine - if it doesn't turn over will need to come apart or be used as a doorstop.
Keep us posted on progress. Seems there are a lot of water-damaged vehicles here in FL. CoPart had a nice IM Cabriolet with watermark 1/2 up the door that didn't look too bad. (Wear plastic gloves or hand will be black for a week).

Guys who ride MCs year round in NYC swear by this stuff. IMO, to do it right would require a body off douche, followed by any number of anti corrosion treatments.
ps: I can’t remember if someone posted this here or on one of the other forums I’m on.
