I've watched several people, Troy, Alan Merklin, and others, find and complete, or rehab, Speedsters in various stages of completion.... With the exception of the one Spyder done by Dr. Clock, I've not seen these listed, posted or advertised anywhere.....

I occasionally find myself day dreaming about a modified Spyder platform, but would like to start with more than Rusty Tub's $3995.00 unbodied roller (worth about $1000.00)....

Does anyone know of a wrecked, burnt, or otherwise damaged unit that might be for sale???

I'm just trying to see if this might be possible at all...

They seem indeed to be a totally different animal. There was a Perry D Spyder on SAMBA with a 140hp Corvair engine months ago. The Perry is a little different from normal Spyders though - it mounts to a stock VW pan.
