Thought I would share a 550 Spyder that was just listed on Bring a Trailer:

Looks pretty clean for a 26 yo car. But why would anyone set the rear swing axle wheels with positive camber. Sounds dangerous around corners.
hold an investment for 26 years and it amounts to 30k. why in the hell didn't the owner perform burnouts and drive the care "like he stole it". stupid facie. alert: it's a replica! the Mona Lisa is under glass at the Louvre. Was the owner joining a monastery? I can't understand why someone wouldn't take it for a spin every day.

"Reduces tire wear on acceleration". Huh?
He's apparently 89 years old, lives in a cow pasture, grew tired of replacing those $45 Nankang tires, and didn't want to look like a hoodlum with a low stance. I can think of no other reason.
Easy fix on the camber/stance. Looks like a really nice car. What's the typical 30-y-o, 1776 Beck Spyder sell for?
Let's put it this way. In 1999 I bought my first spyder with a 2109 CB for $21k. Similar new one will be at least $45k. Your guess is as good as mine. If you can get that car any where close to $21k it would be a great deal.
Phil, it sold for 31K on BAT.
I should have just kept that first spyder. I could have replaced the leaky engine 3 times over and still been ahead. Beginning to think I should just keep my first IM and be happy. Pure Madness.
Spyder prices have gone nuts, that's for sure.
Actually, since these things are hand built anything hand built cost more to build so yes we should of could of would of is quite appropriate even my just recently sold IM 2 years ago has jumped in value just for being already made as the replacement keeps climbing just to replace it.
But, you can't be a pack rat in everything there is no room in my hacienda

Maybe he got tired of dragging his pipes every time he left the rest home driveway:
That's what happens to camber when you raise a swing-axle rear end.
