Hello Everyone
As many of you know I have been in the market for a speedster, and although many like IM, Beck and SAW are proven I was just checking out the CSW site again and noticed that they have pics now of a Chassis.

http://www.cswspeedster.com/photos.html

What do you guys think? Does this company have potential? If a SAW takes about 2 years to build do you think in 2 years CSW might have something similar to bring to market? Should I just wait and see?

I have noticed the site before a long time ago and thought that this company was only planning to build and never actually did. Now the site is updated and although a Honda engine and 5 SPD sounds kewl. I wonder if they actually built any cars yet? Maybe ask them for testimonials? I think you need to take one for a ride before trusting a new builder. It all sounds good though, water cooled, roll up windows...

We need someone near Kingston to swing by and do a report.

All the Speedster shots on their website are stolen photographs of real Porsche Speedsters lifted from other websites like European Collectibles in Costa Mesa and the 356 Registry.

Not cool.

With all the reputable builders out there, who actually take reasonable deposits and deliver cars in a timely manner, I don't think it makes a lot of sense to chase an "unproven design" with a company that doesn't have a single completed car to show.

If you really love the idea of a Honda drivetrain, wait a couple of years until they've delivered a few cars - or, buy an S2000 and be driving this weekend.
I think that the picture on the CSW site is just a mock up of the Chassis. I believe they are still developing the car.

Unfortunetly the only RWD Honda is the NSX and S2000 and since I cant afford the NSX and the S2000 only comes in stick (I cant drive stick due to leg problem) at the moment I cant buy a RWD Honda. :(

Hi, I'm new to this forum but I have been looking for speedster replicas for about a year now. The first manufacturer I have visited is CSW Speedsters.
I was searching this forums for information about them, but it looks like I'm almost the only one that has actually been there.
I can confirm that the pictures of chassie is real and is located in the workshop at http://www.prestigeautoworks.com/ in Plaisance,
Quebec. As long as they are prototyping I belive they are going to be there and not in Kingston.
When I was there, a couple of weeks before the pictures on the web was taken, the glassfibre body and the engine was test fitted in the chassie. As far as I can judge the body looked to be of good quality.
I do not know how many prototypes or redesigns they have done, but the fact that they have test driven the cars and then modified it, is at least better than to just try to sell the first prototype even if it take some time before the first delivery.

My first impression was that they serious about building a car that will have a high standard. But until they have something that I can testdrive I can not say much about them.

I plan to visit them again to see how things proceed.

The next manufacturer I hope to visit is Intermeccanica.

It does not look like an exact copy of the speedster, more something modern but with the look of the speedster.
The weels on the pictures are 215/45R17 on 7" wide rims.

They have not yet finished the car, but I got the impression that the changes they do now is just to get it more production friendly.

I include a few pictures that I took on the car. As you can see the chassie is in an earlier state than on the pictures on the web.
The seat was just lifted in to see how a seat would fit, but the plan is to have a seat with a neck rest, not looking like the original.

Wow Johan
That looks pretty good. I love how that honda motor is mid mounted in the chassis. This has all the making of a great track car, wide tires and a reliable and easily tuned Honda Motor. I wonder if a B16 will fit in there with a turbo?

The good thing about using the Honda motor IMO is the fact that its a proven "tuner" car. I can take it to most any shop and they can mod it with off the self parts.

Cant wait to see it completed!

Thnaks again for the pics Johan!
