Thought I should at least say hi and thank you all for the content and civility of the site. I'm an older guy, still working on a successful first marriage (42 years and counting), one son (grown and married), one grandchild (a boy) and a life-long lust for cars. Looking for my first replica Speedster, ready to buy today but in no big hurry either. Found my way in here because of Alan Merklin. Found his project 43 on Samba and we exchanged emails about the car until something he said led me to believe it might no longer be available even though the ad was still showing at Samba. So I asked him straight out and lo and behold the car had moved on. Best laid plans. Now back to just watching and reading, both pleasant enough I guess. Anyway, thanks again for being such a good resource.

Welcome!
FYI the buyer of that car has to sell it last I heard.
You two should talk...
Yes, we had a couple of texts back and forth, and haven't heard back for a couple of days.
Good luck, welcome to the family!
Take a look at the Envemo convertible listed here with link to it for sale on Hemmings for $27k. Anemic engine but tht can be fixed. Its located in NY.
Welcome to the madness, Michael!
Keep in contact with #43 guy, but check out the Envemo, too. Envemo replicas are 356 B models but VERY well done, albeit a tad on the older side now. Many honest reasons to want to own one, and one at that price is really good.
We're roughly the same age and so forth, and we're approaching the time of year when a few more cars start to appear so hang in there and I'm sure you'll find something to your liking.
