We are 5 days from D-Day (delivery)...

A thousand little details but everything is coming together. Headliner is in, door panels in, carpet, well - that stupid carpet is in place but not "finished" as there a few trim pieces left to paint. Need to adjust the kickdown, adjust the shift linkage, install a/c lines, charge system, rear lowering springs, replace the printed circuit board in the dash, etc.

No problem. - LOL! I'll throw up a few pictures when it's a little closer to done!

And Vince? Yeah, I got a set of pinchers for you...

I'll bring the wireless and the computer. Should be able to upload straight from the delivery site. Dad's probably going to want to take it on the Hot Rod poker run which starts at 9:30. I figure 8:30 to 9:00 - show Dad his car and then a few minutes after that to upload pictures. Then hit the road.

This big black beast is truly beautiful, sounds wonderful and runs flawlessly. It won't have a/c or a working stereo tomorrow, but it will have one very happy driver.

The only regret I have with this car is that I didn't have the time and money to get it done faster. Faster, to give him more time to enjoy it.

See you tomorrow Daddy. Best bring your oxygen. You're gonna need it.

*edit* one more regret - Steve will miss the delivery... Can't get away from work.

**********Dad's Drive***************

Much to my delight, all family members including handsome husband Steve were able to make the delivery time. Two fellas from the local paper were there as well. My Dad was absolutely flabbergasted. He thought he was going for a hot air balloon ride -LOL!!!

Dad did not recognize his old car. He knew that it was an SS Aero, but he thought that we found a better one and fixed it up. Dad kept walking around the car and muttering "holy $hit...." and crying. So I cried. And brother-Wayne cried. Mom cried. I think Steve manned up and stayed dry but the rest of us - sheesh, whatta bunch of wussies.

We then went on a poker run through the rogue valley. Dad drove (duh - he didn't even OFFER to let anyone else drive!) and we returned to Medford around 2pm. Dad loves the car and loves that we saved this thing for him. Loves that it will stay in the family.

Brother Wayne shot videos but I couldn't get them from his camera to this computer. So that will wait a couple of days (and yes, there is AUDIO!).

Now...I'm exhausted.... Long days and a couple of all nighters along with business trips. Going to get some sleep.

Wish you guys could have been there. You'd have loved it.

Thanks you guys! Dad gets to go to his first car show tomorrow. I'll get everything set up for him (tent, chairs, a cooler of "refreshments") so that he can just hang out and enjoy himself.

Cory - my speedstah brutha - sorry I was distracted during your call today... I was speed walking to the bathroom - desperately.... LOL!

Your call meant alot though, especially coming form "jibooty" or however you spell that. Good to hear from you!

We're at the show now and people keep coming up to Dad and congratulating him. It is sooooo way cool! Dad is "diggin'" it!

We put the paper on the car's windshield - pic enclosed.
