I got a call today from Pat at CB and he's started on my new engine. I'm still a month or so out from the switch but I was wondering if anyone has an interest in a nice little 1600cc with Weber 34 ICT's that was freshened up about 3-4k miles ago?
I was going to put it up on the Samba when the time comes but I figure I'd throw it out here first.

I don't know yet Bob. I don't want much for it and being that you're only in Reading you're only an hour or so away so shipping wouldn't be an issue. Let me get some details from my mechanic and I'll figure out a price, but I'm not looking to get rich. I just want to get something out of it.

To any and all-
I think I recall my mechanic saying something about him having a swing axle trans from a Manx buggy he did for a local guy. Chico's did the engine for it. Anyway, it was newly rebuilt but for some reason or another it wasn't used. I'll see what I can find out if anyone is interested.
Bob & Wolfgang,

Here's what I know about what was done to the engine:

Reconditioned heads
new jugs & pistons
new connecting rods
new crank & bearings
all new seals and gaskets
new oil pump
new lifters

So essentially a basic rebuild. The webers were put on in october last year. That's about it. I'll double check to see what the mileage was when it was redone so you know exactly how many miles are on the rebuild.
Bob,
I thought I wrote down mileage when I did the rebuild but I can't seem to find it. Anyway, it's complete as in, just bolt it in. Pretty much everything will come with it (i.e. fan shroud, dizzy, ect) is that what you're looking for? I'll post pics for you if you want. I still don't know what to ask for it? I guess it's only worth what someone's willing to pay? If you'd like, give me a call and we can chat 302-388-1998. And like I said, it's looking like sometime mid to late August that I'll have it out and ready to go.

And Cory, that's the same time you can have the engine lid.
It's goin to Bob when the new one comes in, barring any unforeseen circumstances from either party.

If anyone is interested in the swingaxle let me know. It's just sitting there all rebuilt and everything. My buddy said he doesn't know too much about it other than it is "high performance" and newly rebuilt. It was on a Myer Manx that a customer of his had taken back from a guy who was supposed to be building it. The buggy came in partially assembled and my friend finsihed the job with a huge Chico engine and trans. Point being that I think this trans is built for HP but it just never got into the car.
