Slightly used (4,400 miles; just pulled them from my engine last night). Includes linkage, manifolds, air cleaners (right one is set up for breather hook up) and Kadron velocity stacks sold as accessories. As you know I'm upgrading to Dellortos and big valve heads so these are of no use to me. $250 plus shipping to all SOC members.

Yes; what Wolfgang says is right. Here's an additional suggestion: maybe your valve springs are weak and need replacing. Gene Berg mentioned something like that in one of his articles. He had an engine that wouldn't rev higher and it woke up after installing heavy duty valve springs. And you can actually chage them without tearing apart the motor or removing it from the car. There's a special VW tool that you can find in lots of VW shops that attaches to the rocker shaft studs in the head. With that tool and a special fitting that screws in the spark plug hole and that hooks up to an air compressor, you pressurize the chamber; thus pushing the valve against the seat while you replace the spring.
Thanks for the interest Darryl. Actually there's a guy on The Samba that has been emailing me for a few days now. I'm supposed to pack them up, measure and weigh the package to calculate shipping to his place and he's supposedly waiting for that info. If you're really interested and the deal falls through I'll let you know, sounds fair?
