Kadron Carb Kit with Velocity Stacks

Slightly used (4,400 miles; just pulled them from my engine last night). Includes linkage, manifolds, air cleaners (right one is set up for breather hook up) and Kadron velocity stacks sold as accessories. As you know I'm upgrading to Dellortos and big valve heads so these are of no use to me. $250 plus shipping to all SOC members.

I added a couple of photos. I'm also including a new set of rebuild/gasket sets for the carbs. I can either ship them with the carbs or do the cleaning and installation for you before I ship.

Will these work on a 1600 motor? I bought the car from Warren Miles in Gambrills Md. , and it only makes about 4000 RPMS, I wonder if dual carbs would increase RPMS and performance or they would just be to much fuel? Thanx Capt. Fuzzy

They're supposed to bolt right in to stock engines right out of the box (specifically designed for air cooled VW's) but you still need to do some tweaking. And yes, they'll increase your rpm capability provided your exhaust isn't restrictive.

If it won't rev up, I'd check the valve settings, points and timing first. New carbs won't fix an engine that needs other tuning. Have you done normal tune up stuff like plugs, wires, distributor cap/rotor, valve adjust, timing?

Yes; what Wolfgang says is right. Here's an additional suggestion: maybe your valve springs are weak and need replacing. Gene Berg mentioned something like that in one of his articles. He had an engine that wouldn't rev higher and it woke up after installing heavy duty valve springs. And you can actually chage them without tearing apart the motor or removing it from the car. There's a special VW tool that you can find in lots of VW shops that attaches to the rocker shaft studs in the head. With that tool and a special fitting that screws in the spark plug hole and that hooks up to an air compressor, you pressurize the chamber; thus pushing the valve against the seat while you replace the spring.

I think I'd like to buy your carbs how do you want to do it?

In my humble VW experience, Kadrons are one of the best products that I have known.

I'm supposed to pack them up, measure and weigh the package to calculate shipping to his place and he's supposedly waiting for that info. I'm just a cruiser when it comes to driving my Speedy! My 1835 & dual Kadrons just purr and I haven't had to do ANYTHING to them in 3 years running (20K miles)!

With that said, Ricardo, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying your new set-up - it's hard to beat that kind of driving gratification!
