I know that there are a few closet Karmann Ghia owners here, I recognize one when I "see" him. Anyway, with my last Ghia being taken apart for the pan, I really don't need any of the parts that I've saving anymore. I've got some really nice show quality parts and some hard to find low light parts, and everything in every condition in between. If anyone needs something for their car, or is planning on getting a Ghia and wants to grab something that they know is gonna hurt to buy later on, or even if anyone knows a Ghia Guy who's missing something . . . I might have it. Just lemme know.

I'm putting the parts on The Samba soon, but figured that I'd ask here first.

Kind of OFF-TOPIC I know, so it it's too far afield, just delete this, OK?

Thanks !

All of the low light Ghia stuff that I have is interior thingies. Panels, clips, clasps, rests, mirrors, knobs and the like and all of the stuff is for a cabrio. I even have (which you already have on your car as I recall) the cool roof trim for the header bar and tack strip around the back. This stuff is selling for $$ and would look GREAT on a 356 cabrio replica, wouldn't it?
If I remember correctly the only thing that Vince's lowlight needs to look 100% is a full set of side mouldings and I just saw on Hot VW's mag that Karmann Ghia Parts & Restoration (www.karmannghia.com) stocks the correct length and profile in the correct material (anodized aluminum) for the lowlight for $159.95 per set. Check it out, Vince.
Gary,

Sorry, I wasn't totally clear. I was only commenting on the top trim pieces from the low light Ghias being perfect for a Cabrio, NOT all of the Ghia parts and pieces.

For door panels, some of those listed in the makers section sell their panels separately. They're WAY nicer looking than the panels that came in the originals. The original Porsche Speedster pretty much had flat simple upholstered door panels. You could make a pair for yourself in two hours time. Cut out a background shape, drill the door handle hole, cover with leather or vinyl, screw it onto the door, now do the same for the door cap. Easy Peasy. And the coolest part is that it would look nearly "factory" 'cause that's all they had.

Luck,

TC
