Oh Tom!  Could you please send me a photo of the top of one of your doors? I need to see what the post holes / receivers look like for the side curtains.  Through a series of fortunate events I came into ownership of your old side curtains.

I'm buying your car one piece at a time.

Kevin,

Every now and then I hear someone say "Don't have time". Last year I buried a great friend and neighbor, he was a fellow car nut and would constantly utter those same works. I say this to you as well as everone who reads this herein with the utmost sincerity....DO make time for the simple and meaningful things in life. Utilizing every waking hour for work will kill you in one form or another. I learned this after two serious health issues that,  with a miracle, I overcame. No one knows how many summers have been scheduled on our behalf...DO use them wisely with loving family and friends, you'll never regret it !  ~Alan

Alan,

Thank you soo much for your words of wisdom. I had a very similar experience letting go of a good friend years ago and completely understand your feelings. I guess I should have said something more like priorities, and I do my best to spend just Monday thru Friday working and at least one day a weekend for my family. I have done better the last year by only spending 10 hours a day at work most days, instead of 12-14 and 6 days a week. I make sure I'm home in time to spend some time with my boys and put them to bed during the week and take them to school Fridays. My family is the most important thing in my life, then I have to take care of business. Without business I could not take the time and have the funds to do things with them. I think currently I'm doing pretty good, and really am enjoying my weekends. One of these days I'll get my Speedster out of the garage and drive it, it is still by far my favorite vehicle.

Anyhow, got to get back to work, but I really sincerely thank you for your words and concerns.

Life is too short and we don't get to take any of these things with us so I am going to live it to the fullest and hopefully I get to take my memories with me, or at least in those few closing moments I can look back on my life and not only be proud of who I was, but also feel at peace that I lived life in a great way.   Maybe that is what people mean when they wish a past friend or family to "rest in peace" .....

Hmmmmmmmmmmm Have a good day my Speedster family

Wise words Alan.

I got word yesterday that my uncle passed away at 94 years old, peacefully at home. I'll be at his funeral Tuesday.

A very good friend of mine's father is in hospice waiting to pass right now from cancer, he's 82.

Another friend of mine is terminal right now with cancer at 62. Life long smoker.

I've lost a great friend at 52 from throat/mouth cancer, family at 44 years of age from a heart attack and a good friend at 32 from brain cancer. All of these three came out of the blue.

My own parents are 86 and 91 and Dad doesn't have a whole lot of time left (mind you we've been saying that for 3 years  . I spend as much time with my kids as possible and make time for friends regularly.

I try to count my many blessings, enjoy every day, volunteer and am active in our church. I don't want a bunch of "what ifs and if only".

I don't complain about the weather......much

Hey Kev,

Come on. No reason to apologize. You've given me your cel number at least three times. Jim's given it to me once.  I lost it with my last phone. I don't do the facebook thing. No worries.

Thanks buddy!

Ted

P.S. wait until you guys see what I had Kevin whip up for me! All of you Sëtrab owners are going to be jealous.

Most Sëtrab guys have them mounted up by the trans or above the axles some place. I originally had mine mounted in the front of the rear wheel well.  Not horrible locations, they just require long lines and have crappy air flow.

Kevin whipped this up to allow us guys to mount them back part of the rear fender well. The custom bracket is tig welded and strong. It will mount to the bottom of the 2" square tube and sit in the fender well upright, so the oil lines are pointing down. It should be a very easy install.  The oil filter, the cooler, and thermostat can all fit nicely tucked back behind the drivers side wheel. Slick location and tons of free flowing air.

I'll post some quality photos soon.
