Looks like someone had the same idea I had. I think these wheels look pretty good on a Spyder.
I’m guessing this is a Vintage. Does anyone know if they have the same issues with 5.5” wheels on the front as a Beck? Anyone know of this car? (Sold on BaT 3/21)
I have a long term plan of buying one and seeing if it can be made into a 4.5, with the proper offset, but I’d love to ask this owner how it worked out. (They only come in 5.5 x 15 with a 14mm offset.)

You'd have to check with Carey but I think 5.5" will fit on the front with the proper backspacing. I believe the turning radius will be much larger as you won't be able to turn the wheels as far.
I had a conversation with Carey a few years ago about trying to put slicks on my Spyder.
check Augment wheels in Canada..just had a set of custom Porsche wheels made that Porsche only made for 1 year for a particular model and i didnt have THAT model,,turned out perfect..

I need to go through my emails. We had a conversation once about backspacing. The first time I looked at these, I figured I’d have to cut 1/4” off the front and 3/4” off the back to match the standard 4.5” steel wheels, which might be prohibitively expense if it was even possible.
I wouldn’t want to lose any clearance from what I have now. It rubs occasionally as it is now
I’m probably trying to, quite literally, reinvent the wheel here. I should probably just get a set of 4.5-5.5 189’s and get over it.

I had Augment make my new set of wheels, and they did a pretty good job.

Your not kidding Lane, Bob's and those grey wheels by Augment are awesome. Bob, what do they call the finish on your wheels? Are they powder coated or just aluminum?

Yes. They would look fantastic. I think they’re even nicer than the Coddingtons Carey puts on the GTSes.

Powder coated. That is their standard finish.
@Bob: IM S6- They do look great Bob! 6's and 7's? 7's and 8's? Or??? Tire sizes?

Honestly your wheels Bob are outstanding ! If ever my fuchs get damaged I may consider those as they are a really nice pair of shoes for any car.
