In my experience in three states (anal Massachusetts, laid-back Rhode Island and really laid-back South Carolina), nobody even bats an eye at it - they just see the odometer reading and write it down without ever noting whether it's miles, kilometers or rods-per-furlong. It's not THEIR car, so they don't care.

Don't sweat it. (but keep in your head the .62 conversion, just in case).
Todd,

FL BMV is in a world of their own. FL is a state that actually differentiates between a "kit car" and a "replica".
Anyway, I have had it be both an issue and a non issue in Florida just this year. One client was told he HAD to have MPH gauges, in which case we swapped him out, and I've had others who were pushed right through with no questions asked... so I guess it depends on the office or the clerk you get.
In order to avoid an "odometer disclosure statement" we have them set to the proper mileage by North Hollywood. If you already had one to swap for another I'd connect the speedo cable to a drill and you can put the proper miles on it that way... unless it has a TON of miles then I'd just send it out to have it set and save yourself a lot of time.
