OK, Here is our Speedster/Spyder events schedule. Tentitive and some improv may occur! We'll hand out the printed version at Knotts.

FRIDAY, APRIL 23

Car Wash and general clean-up. Parking lot BS sessions. Make plans for Friday night dinner. All this at the Marriott Parking Lot.

SATURDAY, APRIL 24

9:00 AM Show opens, Registration at gate by AHA people. Go to SOC area for check-in and car parking,

9:00 AM-3:00 PM People Choice balloting for both Speedsters and Spyders.

2:00 PM Q&A session with Kirk Duncan, John Steele, Cary Hines, Henry Reisner and a representitive from Vintage Spyders.

4:30 PM Speedster and Spyder trophy presentations.

6:00 PM Assemble for the trip over to Mrs. Knotts Chicken Buffet.

6:30- 7:00 PM Happy Hour at the Dinner Hall.

7:00-? Mrs Knotts Chicken Buffet, additional awards presented.

SUNDAY, APRIL, 25

9:00 AM-3:00 PM Open car show, same location as Saturday

2:00 PM AHA trophies awarded

3:00 PM Show ends

Got this baby printed out and hanging on the BB right beside my work bench!

This is my first time attending this function. What is the AHA and the SOC area? I do not have a car yet and am looking forward to seeing all the cars. Darryll

AHA= Association Handcrafted Automobiles
SOC= Speedster Owners (Club?) or (Com?).

Hope this helps, I'm sure you won't have any trouble locating the group at Knott's.

Just a question about the dinner. I'm not sure, at this point, how many people I will have with me. Are the tickets for the dinner the same price the day of the show , as they are in advance?

Don,

You can prepay for the dinner using the form available on the Replica Rendezvous info logo on the home page. You can also buy them at the gate on the day of the show. There are only 125 tickets being sold for the dinner, so.........

Don't know how many have been sold so far but I think a fair number of the Speedster/Spyder guys and gals will be going to the dinner. How many people can you squeese into a Speedster anyway? Maybe that would be a contest we could plan for next year, not in my car though.

I guess a word of clarification is due here. The Mrs. Knotts Chicken Buffet is not a Speedster/Spyder sponsered dinner, It is sponsered by the AHA and other than our group will be in attendence. Hopefully we'll be able to gather in one group at the dinner. The 125 dinner tickets is for the entire group so might be best to send that chicken
feed into the AHA ASAP.

Anybody know how big of a "Quick-Shade" pop up can be used to shade our cars in our designated slots? Sizes are: 8X8, 10X10, and 12X12, and I would like to bring the biggest one possible, but would not want to crowd my neighbor.

I was wondering where I was going to put 2 folding chairs to sit in,
for the drive to Knotts, and decided on a blanket...and your bring a tent......I must be packing wrong....

You can bring the largest, 12X12, that should cover a speedster or Spyder with room left over for chairs etc. No BBQ grills allowed! Marshmallows will be done with somebodies flamethrower exhaust I guess!

Don,

Forgot to mention that the AHA people are strongly recommending sandbags to anchor the pop-ups. Guess on past shows wind has carried pop-ups into some cars.That would not be a good thing to happen to one of our cars. Some people obviously will have tie down ropes on the pop-ups but since it is on blacktop???? Maybe the ropes are anchored with the sand bags. Anybody from last year remember how they do this?

I found a set of weights at Sports Authority specifically for the purpose of holding down the "Quick Shade" pop-ups. 20 pounds total. And we do get some winds there.

Found some 7.5 lb metal wights at the swap meet for $10 toal. A good deal too me
