I'm very tempted to come over for the Knotts meet from the UK.

I can get a flight into LAX at a half decent price, and would be interested in hiring a car for 5/6 days, and getting acommodation for the same sort of duration.

I've got flight prices sorted. I'm interested to know the best place to hire a car (convertible ?) for 5/6 days, and also how much per day it will cost me to stay in inexpensive but clean accomodation for the duration.

The other option I'm looking at is a package flying into LAX, driving up to San Diego, then flying back to the UK from there.

Any advice would be appreciated. Oh, and would I get a bottle of wine ?

When I travel and I have done A LOT, I am always satisfied with the Marriott Courtyard chain. Not too expensive, always clean, good breakfast area.

As for cars, let me check if I have any Avis coupons kicking about. I might have some free days or discounts. I am an Avis Corporate member and get stuff every month from them.

Jon, if you do end up coming, I will have a bottle of one of Napa's finest waiting for you at stall I10. I cannot speak for Theron, but being a man of impeccable taste, I am sure his wine will be very nice as well.

Simon, the same goes for you. I10, this is wine worthy of paying corkage on.
