David,

Yeah, it's a shame we don't have more get-togethers like this throughout the year. Not that it isn't great to build up the anticipation for every April, but we seem to get so few opportunities to just get knee-deep in our appreciation for these cars and the fun of owning one (without getting the materialistic guilt).

To anyone thinking of volunteering to plan the '06 festivities, it is a real kick to pour over designs and fun things to bring to the event. The only drawback is narrowing down the sheer volume of ideas. You start thinking, it would be great to do grill badges, jackets, programs, etc.

I was hoping to get more sponsorship from parts vendors, but we did end up with give-aways from both Mid America Motorworks and Griot's Garage. I think they were impressed with the number of members we boast and the buzz the growth this show has been getting.

Bruce W. is bring the ticket roll from last year and he says there is in excess of 1,000 stub on it, so we should be in good shape, but rest assured, everyone WILL leave with something.

Are you trying to throw off the whole world economy?? LOL!

See me at the show. We'll make a shady, back-room, hand-greasing, covert, duckin' and hidin', on the QT, blue states/red states, suspicious & suspect, fishy or otherwise smelling of carp, disreputible, corruptible, naughty to the point of shame, deal.

1000 stubs! Even with our raffle donations that must mean we have 900 rubber keychains from Knotts parks!

I have a few things to donate. A couple of Old Maui shirts.. new, nice, and a Mobil Pegasus Tag Topper (repro). Mike, it would be easier for me to send them UPS than haul them all over from OKC-YVR-LA. Shoot me a mail and I'll box 'em and send them your way. (I leave in 2 days so.

RE: other events throughout the year

I try to get a lunch group together at least once a month in the I-80 corridor between San Francisco and Sacramento. Often we do it twice a month and during the week. That has been a great amount of fun. Last month we looked at some vintage motorcycles.
Mike,
I really appreciate the work you are doing for the Knott's event. Gathering and storing prizes in your trailer must also be putting a strain on the Mrs.

I thought you had an overhang out one side the trailer? That darn park manager tell you to pull it down again? I remember you were letting it do double duty as a clothes line and kept complaining your pantyhose was dripping on the little sports car.
No mercy in SoCal, give me an amen!
Paul,

Re. "Strain on the Mrs." not too bad, really. She does get annoyed when I forget to skin the possums before throwing them over the Habachi. She's still trying to get the smell of burnt pelts out of the green shagg carpeting in the foyer (where you step up into the trailer).

Mike, we are neighbors, I think. Do you have that fine looking 71 Ford F100 with Mudder tires and the Nuke Iran and Save Terri Sickers on it? You might know us.... we have Toby Teeth cranked to 150dbs playing "Live Like yo was dyin'" while we keep the Meth cookin'.
