A total of 57(!) Porsche Replicas were at Knotts this weekend, more than 37 Speedsters! Quite a showing, considering last year there were 7 Porsche Replicas there. The AHA was thrilled at our participation and now understands we are a force to be reckoned with.

Your friends and on-line colleagues voted Patrick Dwyer's VS as third favorite 356; Paul Harford's VS took the trophy for second; and Dale Bates beautiful IM took a well-deserved first place.

In the overall show awards our guys did well, too. Gabriel Quiroz of Placentia, CA took the third-place trophy in the Porsche Class. And, Dixon, CA's own Dale Bates won the second-place award. Luckily, Dale has a luggage rack to handle all the shiny hardware he picked up in L.A.

A Thunder Ranch 550 (with a 911 engine!) won the Porsche Replica top trophy...an amazing car.

It was a great weekend! I have over 100 digital photos that I'll get to work on tomorrow and hopefully post them to the Replica Rendezvous Website on Monday afternoon. Now, I need ZZZZZs.

You should have been there...

Thanks John, Bruce, Theron and everyone else for putting this together. I had a good time for the brief time I was there. Arla liked the cars as well. Next year I'll be down with my finished car, and hopefully Bruce will be up for another road trip. Bruce, if you want to hear about hard times with cars, check out all I went through with my previous car:

See you all next year!

All my pictures from Knotts should be up on my build site here soon.

PS. Mike, what color code is your Denim Blue Pearl. My wife loved it and I'm getting pressure for a blue car :)
Chris,

They are off the Audi TT Car Club of America
( www.auditt.org/faq/982427940 ).

Denim Blue Pearl: LZ5W

When John (Steele) and I reviewed the paint chips there were three variances of the color that came up, each with only a slight change in brightness from the others. I believe we went with the darker of the three. I guess each Audi paint techs are allowed their preference of variances??

What interior colors are you considering?

I just wanted to add my vote of thanks to all who had a hand in organizing the whole event, and spreading such good cheer throughout the day. It was great! My congratulations to all who placed in the competition for recognition, and my thanks to all who entered because you ALL made my day, and you are all winners in my book. The raffle prizes were a great idea, and the prizes themselves were cool! Didn't meet one grouch all day, probably because you can't be a grouch looking at each others sweet cars.

Patrick, Paul, Dale, Gabriel spectacular cars, and glad you were recognized.

Again, thanks to all for a great show!

I'd like to say thanks to John Leader and Bruce Williams for all they did to help coordinate this successful event. What a turnout! I had a ball - what a great group of people - was great to finally meet those whos names we see popping up on the site.

Also - congrats to the trophy winners - and Jim Ward - that was a good hood ornament......can you send me a pic?

Mike,

Part of my problem is my interor color is already done. Wine. I was all set to go with silver but this weekend there were all sorts of great blues, some of which I think would go really well with the Red Wine interior. John Leader suggested Bali Blue which is a deep blue. Google bali blue and there are tons of examples.

Time to go spend a while at the local Wesco Auto Paint shop with my vinyl and paint chips. Thanks for the paint specs. You have a real looker there!
Sorry for being a bit late with this Thank You. Paul(aka Wide Ridezz) and I had "quite a drive" home Sunday night, and I fell asleep at the computer trying to get something out. Went to the Doc monday morning with a 103 temp and a huge bronchial infection so I slept all day and did not hit the computer until this morning.

John and Bruce, WOW !! What a fantastic event you two put together. You invited a wonderful bunch of folks that were already friends but most had never met each other. I will cherish the memories along time. The mammories were not bad either, thanks Jim and Paul. Opps did I say that?

Thank you all for the trophy, it is not the biggest or most shiny but it means more to me than any other. It is beautiful and will always be my most cherished. It has the place of prominence on my shelf.

Bless you all, Safe travels, and lets all meet again.
