Can I build an FV engine with that roller crank? It's the same stroke(66mm) as a 40 hp! LOL, that might be illegal. But man I'd like to see what it could do!

The friend/VW shop owner who taught me a lot the high perf stuff I know built a 69 mm roller crank engine with dual port heads, kadrons, stock cam, 009 and a 1 3/8 header.  Went like it had a W110 in it.  Too bad his brother didn't take care of it- it was a really cool little engine!  It would definitely give you an advantage...

We're stuck with a stock cam, rockers, pistons and cylinders. Single port heads, which can be ported slightly. Stock manifold, massaged, with a 28mm PCI carb(36hp flows better than 40 hp carb), 7.3:1 compression and stock size chambers. We can change valve springs as long as they're single, and change cam timing. But mostly stock. We're making right around 60 hp at that, with no fan and no generator needed.

Seriously, if you made 63 hp you'd have a real advantage.

Wow- all those cars (so many convertibles!), 28 356/912 engines, that NOS pile of trans/engine parts and 2 roller crankshafts. Who knows what I'd come home with- I'm sooo glad I'm not local!

Mind you, I have always wanted to own a roller crank... Who lives near there?

There’s a guy in another forum I’m on that works for a high end Mercedes shop/restoration outfit. He’s been going there for years for rare NLA parts. He said at one time Rudi had literal stacks of wrecked SL300 Gullwings. He said most of the valuable stuff was sold while he was still alive. There’s still a few gems, but for the most part, his kids are just trying to liquidate the scrap. Most of those 356/911 motors have been sitting outside for 30-40 years and aren’t good for anything but magnesium bonfires.
