Lake Arrowhead August 15th

Lets see if we can get some interest in a run to the lake......
We have done this one in the past a few times, it does require some freeway driving to get to the canyons....think about it...
date and location negotable....but lets get together in August..

Vince - The Arrowhead Cruise is always fun, but you're right about the freeway time to get to the start point.

I'll draft another canyon cruise through OC (Trabuco/Majeska/Silverado) with a mid-day stop at a park across from my crib in Irvine. We can have lunch/drinks in a nice park setting with shade trees, then continue the cruise down the hill to Laguna Beach/Newport Coast where everyone can go their separate ways. Approximate drive time 4 hours (including lunch stop in park).

Ginny & I will be back from the Pre-Historic races/Laguna Seca by August 11 so we'd like to shoot for a weekend after that.

Any interest.....

I'm in, but I don't know if Gerd will be making it...The Police hauled him off again, I think it was the restraining order Tom Irvine from Boulder Colorado has out on him for herassment....

Lets decide on a date so I can get it in my book. We have no vacation plans, so pretty much any weekend works for us, so far.

Here's 2 date suggestions for this canyon cruise;

Saturday - Aug 15th or Aug 22nd.

Tentative trip sheet;

Starting point approximate mid-way between L.A./Torrance and San Diego/Oceanside.

1. Start point = Alicia exit 5 Fwy (Mission Viejo) Target parking lot (10:00am)
2. Cruise through Trabuco/Majeska/Black Star/Silverado Cyns (2 hr trip time)
3. Exit Silverado Cyn head to Turtle Rock Park (irvine/Shady Canyon)
4. Pot Luck lunch (and a few competitive games) in park (plenty of parking close to picnic tables/shade trees)
5. After lunch cruise down to Crystal Cove/Newport Beach then south to Laguna Beach.
6. Group disperses after Laguna Beach
7. Approximate end time = 2:30-3:00pm.

Suggestions?

Lake Arrowhead run would be my choice on the 15th

That's 2 D's.. One more and I'll make a movie, or bigg freaking BRA! Jimbo is that the same drive we took a year ago or so, when it rained on us a bit? if so that was an awesome ride and the roads were sweeeeeet.....
