Lake Arrowhead run

I have been asked by a number of SOC members to put together a run,
I am looking at the beginning of June, and I think Arrowhead as a destination, I would like to hear from some of you So.Cal. guys and Gals as to what you think....Arrowhead gives us minimum freeway and lots of Mtn/Canyon driving, we did this run a few years ago and had a really good day, with Lunch at Arrowhead......

Gabe here! Man I can kick myself for not being available for Paso, this past weekend. Looks like you guys had a great turn-out. I'm still having carb problems for that long of a run!!!! Will be purchasing new carbs next week. Lake Arrowhead sounds good.

Arrowhead sounds good, I look forward to the date.. Say I went out to Knotts.. Could not beleive the number of Cobra's in attendence. Very few Speedsters but those that were looked great... especially Charlene's Silver darling.. Oh yeah we won our soccer game too! 4-0 STILL undefeated! LOL..

June 3rd is a Saturday, if we can get enough interest for that day,
we ride.....Sunday can also work, but traffic on Sunday evening returning from Arrowhead may be more than we want.....
I am throwing that date out for now, give me input......

That weekend is out for us, we'll be in Reno (sans Speedster). I'll keep watching for an alternate date. I like the Saturday deal, I agree, the Sunday traffic will be tough. Like the drive home from Paso, I'm glad we got an early start. Next year, we're staying over 'til Monday.

What an awesome weekend! We had a great time. We would love to do another run. The 3rd or the 10th works for us, so far nothing on the calendar for either date. Saturdays are best for us. Let us know the firm date. I took plenty of pics in Paso, I will post them later.

We should have 2 or 3 meeting spots along the way, I am coming From Redondo with all local (south bay cars) We can figure a local spot to meet. Just speak up as far as route desired and other meeting spots along the way, and we can plan this out.......

So far, we have a pretty good distribution of participants. I might suggest the shopping center in Cerritos, Bloomfield and 91. Walmart lot, it's large and there's a Mimi's, so anyone who wants to have a breakfast can get there early and chow down. We'll have easy access to the 91 or 605 from there. I'm thinking 605 to 210? Whaddaya tink?

Thanks oh evil donating member. I've been traveling for work between the east & west coasts. I saw Murph a month ago, he bought one of those Lotuses. Nice, I can get in it, but I couldn't get out of it. I'll stick to Speedsters. See you in June, bro.

HEY VINCE! I contacted Murph. He plans on making the Lake Arrowhead run as well. His spyder is cool. Maybe I can make that wrong turn again...

Can't believe it's June 1st. I guess it is time to start polling the troops to see who is going, where and when we're going to meet and some proposed routes. Being an anal accountant, I can't help it... Let's get the discussion started. It should be easy for us South Bay folks, I'm open. I saw Jennifer and hubby last week on PCH, they said they were in, so at least three of us will be starting from the Torrance/Redondo area. We'll be out of town this weekend, I'll check the thread Sunday evening.

...we're in! Just need a place and time to hook up with the caravan. We're coming from south Orange County, so maybe somewhere along the 91 Fwy in Anaheim Hills (Imperial, Weir Cnyn, Green River, or wherever!).

We will have cars coming from every direction, so it will be important to pick locations to meet, to get folks together as soon and conveniently as possible.....
I will look at a map over the weekend, I suggest some of you do the same, and we can form a plan for meeting up.....

I'm riding the HD almost every day now that the weather has improved, I'm hardly your typical HD rider with my Hawaiin shirt shorts and flip flops.......
Ran the Harley into the speedster last week while parking it in the garage, put a nice scratch on the bumper, its at Vintage right now getting a splash of paint.....MR356 will be ready to ride next weekend.......

...I have a mental picture of you cruising PCH through Redondo/Manhatten/Malibu beach on your HD wearing an Easy Rider American Flag helmet!

Jim, I have the Easy Rider poster hanging in my office, but a wear a german style beanie most of the time......

I'm looking at maps....It appears the best route from South bay and Orange county is the 91 most of the way then 215/30/18/189.....
another option could be 91/15/138/18/189
From what I see on this site, most cars are coming from those areas.
The only car I know coming from the valley is Kevin, so if we can get him to the 91 with us, then it becomes easier for the rest of us...
I don't remember what I did last week, so trying to remember how we went last year or the year before won't work for me. Please speak up if you have a better route, but remember it is extremely difficult trying to keep even half a dozen cars together on surface streets so we need to stay on the freeway system most of the way there...
we can have a few meeting places along the 91. I suggest some of you look at a map and if you have ideas for meeting spots along the way, post them so we can get organized ASAP.......

If we're headed out the 91, I guess the So Bay contingent could meet up at the Wells Fargo/Starbuck's on the southeast corner of Hawthorne and Artesia. Let us know... You name the time.
