The car is built on a 69 pan and same year transaxle. Any ideas on if what wheels will fit. The wider the better. I asked this question a year ago on the site and a guy with a very clean CMC from I think Georgia or maybe Kentucky had some 5 1/2's he fit under his speedster. He gave me his phone number to explain how he fit them under the car. Long story short, I lost his number. Any ideas or if you know who I'm talking about, I'd appreciate it.

From your photos, yours appears to be classic version vs flared "California" version. I have OEM 2L 914 Fuchs 5.5x15" w/185/65x15 BS Pole Position tires. Front have 3/8" spacers to clear brake caliper and give clearnance for center "hub" cap. Rears have 1/4" inch on one side more on other. I have '70 IRS pan. I did remove some of wheel opening extra fiberglass on tight side. I would have like to use the taller/wider 195/65x15 but the 185 seems more popular here. (It had 165/80x15 Michelin XZX and they fit fine - new tires are 1" shorter so glad I didn't lower more way back). I had to use aftermarket taller billet hub caps to clear the front grease cap and huge 36mm rear nut. Believe issue is more tire size than width - offset still issue too.
