Uh, earthquakes & wildfires......:-)
So soon, Marty? I guess I'm lucky that all I have to do is to drive mine into my barn/garage at the last possible moment.
Yep, I almost lost my spot last year so I got in early. Its getting cold here fast this year too. No Indian summer to speak of. Not Canadian cold but not many top down days if any left. It goes to a heated facility on a trickle charge. Better there than cold in my garage not being driven.
OHH!!! When you say 'layup' you mean 'long term storage' ?
I thought you were getting some glass or carbon-fiber work done.
I just realized you run the 'GT' flat bumper trim and the lower rear valence. I had never noticed those items before. Nice!
Ted
You could keep it in your garage with a car capsule

That would be nice but too many cars then. Even with this car in storage we have 4. Me, Sandy and the kids cars. I don't like a ton of cars in the driveway in the winter. Its a real PITA when the snow comes down.
I used to have to drive mine to a heated facility I finally built a garage to house the car...
When I saw the word layup I thought Marty joined a middle-aged men's basketball team.

We have a lot in common. I dont like a ton of snow in the driveway. It's a real PITA.
I just noticed your new valance Marty

The only snow you'll ever have in your driveway will come in a dump truck.

Here is a better pic of the Valance.
Sunday night was the first snow here in West Virginia ~
Ah Sir Valancealot... pretty sweet, get some polish on that exhaust
We had some hail today... lightly, fortunately I happened to be under a canopy

Ray, Stan would take away my man card.
That's tough being without the car for that long. Peak leaves next week for me in Charlottesville. Week off. Going to be beautiful. I wish I had the spyder. My son is moving soon from Chicago to Boston to complete his training at Mass. General. He says he wants to return to Chicago. Go figure.
We're just getting into the best driving weather of the year here. Marty, I don't know how you stand only being able to use that gorgeous car for half the year, but I guess it's better than not having it at all.
For me, the time goes by faster when I can't see the car just sitting there not being driven. Sandy and me are taking the BMW back to FL tomorrow. We are going to cut through the mountains and head east to St Augustine FL and down south to Hallandale Beach. @Lane Anderson, what was that nice hotel we stayed at near the Biltmore?
Hilton, Biltmore Park
This is the first year I will every keep my car home for the winter. Hoping to get it out one more time, then Sta-bill in the tank and plug in the battery tender.
What is "SNOW"?
Finally cool enough here in TX to drive. I don't know how you guys put them away for half a year, but then I guess there is a month or two (Jan Feb) where it is a bit too cold, and then 2or 3 months in the summer where it is too hot here in TX.

It's this (somewhat) white, sloppy crap that falls from the sky sometimes, starting about this time of year. We throw salt on the roads so we can drive during the day, and then it (sometimes) gets even colder at night so the roads freeze up anyway. Come on over and I'll let you try out a snow shovel; it's a great experience! (if you have a massive coronary in the middle of it I'll just move you into the snow pile and they'll find you in the spring. I will be pissed though, if you didn't even finish my driveway and sidewalks)
The nice man plows and shovels our townhouse here in WV, while I sip my coffee.....
"Snow" The only reason my 18 and 21 year old boys can live with me as long as they like, lol
"Snowblower" The only mechanical item that I have ever paid for an extra extened warranty on
.
Yeah, @Marty Grzynkowicz and @Bob: IM S6 (and others); you guys know what I'm talkin' about!

Marty. Don't know if you and Sandy like B&Bs but this one is very nice.

Ray:
That's the same valence that I had Henry put on my car. Helps to hide the exhaust system, and finishes off the rear end quite nicely.
It's also good for scraping the snow off the driveway...
Gee and all this time I thought those two holes were for snow blowing.
You guys ever thought of putting a 356 back up light in that valence?
I have the led backup strip hidden in my Carrera fins, but the valance would be a cool place to put a rear running light.

Here in southeast Virginia we get mountains of snow.
Last year in Southern ON we got very little snow but it was cold. I think I only shoveled 3X. Many parts of the NE (NY, ME, MI, OH, MA) United States generally get much more snow than we do due to the mild affect of the Great Lakes.
This Winter, they are calling for a warmer snowier Winter which generally means worse driving conditions, slush etc.
I prefer the cold and less snow.
Ray
My back up light/strip is hidden in the license plate shroud, as I have high signal lights in the louvers, and a third brake light high in the engine grill.
Gotta fit a lot of stuff in not much space back there.
What is a "COAT"?
Forgive me......kind gentlemen

Well, Banzai, it's this outer forget it....
A coat is something you wish you had when you go up to the observatory on top of the volcano. Snow is the white stuff Ken the grojnd around the observatory. It doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with a mirror and a razor blade.
