A couple of pictures of the recently installed 6" LED Light Strip from ijdmtoy.com.
Very bright back up, and also a bright red 3rd break light.
Next step is to install the two front LED running light and turn signal inside the "horn" grille area.

Great improvement on brightness and visibility!
Pepespeed: I did the same at first, later I discovered that since my brake lights were also the turn lights. Every time I used my turn signals the LED strip blinked as well. Ended up adding a second LED strip and ran the strips down each side of the grill, then wired the right side LED strip to the right brake light and the left LED to the left brake light. Now both LEDS light when the brakes are applied and the appropriate one blinks when using the turn signals. Your lights may be wired differently but check that 3rd brake light with a turn signal on.
Nolan, thank you for the feedback. I tapped the "red" circuit going to the original lights on VS for the LED brake light and it only illuminates when brakes applied.
The "white" circuit is tapped into the back-up circuit and works independent of the brake Red LEDs.
Thank you again for the heads up as that could have been an issue to overcome and rewire. I do have separate bulbs left/right for the rear turn signals each on their own circuits, of course.

That looks very nice! Thanks for the pics & links.
When I get my IM back (ha, ha) I plan on installing a center blinking brake light module. I've had them on a couple of cars and think they're very noticeable when braking.
Here's an example:
Tom, What parts and how did you install?
I'd like to do something like that. There are just to many distracted drivers out there...
G.R.,
besides the LED strip shown on the link on my post of a day ago, I just used two 2.5" screws and drilled thru fiberglass to secure under rear Grille.
Elec. accessories: self piercing taps to existing turn signal wires and back up light wire; cable ties and spiral wire loom conduit to keep 16 awg wires neat and out of trouble in engine bay.
I agree that visibility is key. Here in FL we see on the news where drivers hit emergency vehicles parked on side of road (with ALL the LED lights they use now a days).

From the video it looks like your left led lights blink when the right directional signal does?
G.R.,
Yes, I noticed that and not sure how to correct. Obviously a Voltage drop in the comment + circuit. Not as noticeable when viewing with naked eye.
I am going to look at an LED Load Resistor to see if it provides voltage balance and prevents this to opposite side module?

This is a neat option for adding a third brake light.
It's $45 at rodworx. http://www.rodworx.com/product.php?item=769
I use these ^ lighted frames on my previous and current VS. Adds brake light plus a separate light to better illuminate the license plate.

Tom L(Pepespeed), I have seen a lot of those T-taps fail. Preferable to cut, crimp, and insulate. Or in my case, I strip the insulation off, leaving the wire intact, then wrap, solder, and heat-shrink if possible. If you can't heat shrink, wrap it with good electrical tape and secure with a tiny zip-tie. I have zero electrical issues, been doing auto wiring for 35 years. Full harnesses, remote starts, alarms, stereos/amps, and ignition systems. Basically, everything except an aftermarket EFI install.
BTW, I really like that white/red light!
DannyP,
Thank you for the advise. I believe you are 100% correct. In fact the manufacturer suggests the same technique of strip/wrap/solder/heat shrink or tape for the LED Load Resistors. I am going to try that as my next step. BTW the leads out of LED are approx. 22 awg and the feed from switched acc is 16 awg; therefore issue must be at this connection point.
