LED lights.

I have an IM speedster with the "beehive" look. Ive gone through a couple of the NLA plastic lenses, due to the heat of the low wattage bulb. I purchased the LED that NLA supplies, but they dont "seat" properly. The shoulder of the bulb isn't tapered enough. Went to Advanced Auto parts, bought a set of LED's for 14 dollars, they didn't seat properly either. I looked at the contacts and decided to shave them off by half, WALA!!! seat perfectly and work at the same time. Anybody run into this issue before?
