LED tail light

Using 1156 & 1157 PCB LED Light from : http://www.superbrightleds.com/other_bulbs.htm
I have replaced the standard tail, brake and turn light. This is just the tail light on. I did not take picture with the brake light on.

I actually ordered the wrong color for the turn signal. However, the amber turns out to be nice

Im sorry Guys .. but I just don't like the the square look but thats just me. I would rather have the led Spagetti cards thingys that try to match the shape of the inner lens's. BETTER!! I have seen them on 57 chevys ..

I have been trying to find the supplier that makes them and Im holding out for that Its just a better look .

AND!they also will probaley have the led flashers too.

Certainly looks brighter, though. Have you tried leaving bulbs in one light, and LEDs in the other, and comparing them? Did you have any trouble getting the PCBs to fit in the lens?

On the white speedster that is in my file I used a '39 Ford surface mount LED tailight and was very bright.
The manufacture was Technostalgic ...I think. This is a link to a similar configuration. No reason that a LED board like that could not be retrofitted into a Speedster tailight assembly and look better than the square or bulb type LED.

Thanks Alan, Thats a differt but nice kit. The supplier Im trying to find makes kits for many types of cars. and does do custom work..

This site: http://www.nomagicneon.com/ has round led lights similar to the square ones Eddy used. They are, however, much more expensive.

They are available in various sizes.

As per another thread, I'm working on a custom board to give LED rear lights for European models (indicator plus dual filament stop & tail).

I have not been able to find that paticular supplier again. Bur what you have there is a lot better.

but the ones I saw had the leds crowed in very thigtly and were outstanding.

I don't know, but I think most of us have the taillights wired in the Euro style (dual filament stop/brake, single tail), so when your ready to go, I think you'd have takers on this side of the pond for what you've got.

If the leds are brite enough but ugly, slip in a small liner of prismatic lighting diffuser . panel .

If I were to use the ones Hambly has I might would. But the ones that are tightly fitted. give a uniform look thats sharp Im still going to keep lookin And I know they are already out there..

aaron: those plug in ones suck. Save your money and return them. if you decide to keep them, do one side and get someone to stomp on the brakes.

I had a set of those in my old car. waste of $$. I pulled them and put the incandescent ones back in.

I am changing the head lamps to European type lamps by Hella. Not sealed beams, but have that look.
