Not sure why these great LED lights wouldn't work on a Beck/SE. I bought a set from Jim Franzen, the owner, and had SAS install them on my new Subi coupe. Jim, the owner, is an electrical engineer, and a great guy with excellent customer service. It gives all of us a chance to buy American. Jim and the car builder talked it over, and did a minor modification to make the lights work with our modern car wiring as opposed to the original 356 wiring. Bright tail lights rank right up there with a loud horn.
Hi Jim---could you post how to contact Jim Franzen?
Many thanks!
Hi Jack,
Jim Franzen is based in Batavia, IL. His e-mail address is: Franzen@CuLayer.com. It was a real pleasure to deal with him. He takes great pride in his invention. Please tell him I said hello. Best of luck, Jim
I live 10 minutes from here if anyone needs me to stop by.
Couldn't you just twist in LED bulb replacements into the original sockets for a lot less money?

Mike, There is no comparison between the stock LED bulbs and the CuLayer units. The shape of a stock LED bulb is built to mimic the incandescent bulb they replace. The LED's arent oriented toward the lens or the rear of the car. Instead, they are on a circular stalk, so they are pointed toward the center of the vehicle, not toward the reas as the CuLayer units are. In effect, they are 90 degrees off. The CuLayer units have LED's on a flat disc that points toward the rear of the car, so illumination is hugely different in the samples I have seen.
do you have to have the LED flasher for these two types?
Thanks, JIm. I'd like to upgrade my tail lights too! Stay well!
Hi can any post a picture and the pricing? Do they work with a stock flasher? Thanks
The LED arrays I used are considerably larger than the CULayer units, but you can't just use the push-in replacement units due to their size and the angle of the sockets. The ones I purchased had the plugs on pigtails, which made it easy to fit. Remember, LEDs are much more directional than incandescents. Throw in a cut up coke can and problem solved.
Carey found some "really nice 230 degree LEDs" that he is using on Natalie. My understanding is that these do plug directly into the socket and are a big improvement over the incandescents.
Tom, are the sockets on our IMs on top rather than the back? I can't remember.
