I have those they are great lights!
Those are very cool! Thanks for sharing that link, Bill.
Emailed Jim from Culayer today. He is making me a set of LED brake lights for my beehives. Sounds like a real craftsman and he is local.
I'm interested. Details on prices etc please. 561-706-6335 tks!!!
Looks like real nice stuff and well priced, too.
Bob has those Marty PM him
$200 is a big, BIG OUCH...although my memory recall for 'specific details' is frustratingly foggy since my TIA (mini-stroke) I do remember that Lane jerry-rigged LED tail lights for about the cost of a few packs of Marlboro cigarettes and an empty Coca-Cola soda can! I just wish that I'd made notes of those details that I could now refer to.
I've posted a couple of times about CUlayer LED lights. They are very, very bright, and I have them in my new S6.
James Franzen is a great guy to work with. He will ensure you are completely happy with his product. He went to great lengths to ensure that my lights were just the right 'warm shade' that I wanted on my car (front parking lights). I did not want a stark white light, and he made me a pair of 'warm white lights'.
Yes, they are not cheap, but you won't get better brilliance elsewhere, and for brake lights, that is what matters.

I couldn't agree more. Carl, the cut-up soda can (yes, really) worked very well as a base to hold the lights in the proper orientation. I believe that the LED arrays themselves cost something over $100, but I don't remember exactly how much. I will certainly investigate the CULayer lights for my new coupe.

Marty let me know when you get them, could be the first upgrade
Here is my rear end: . Those are the turning signals illuminated. There is also an LED brake light at the top of the grill. All seven lights come on when the brakes are applied - four beehives, two upper signal lights, one upper brake light. The more the better with such small lights.

Those are definitely bright Bob.
Bob nice rear end... on that car....Not Cheap.... a lot cheaper than a rear ender
A flashing center brake light would, I think, help prevent a rear-ender too.
I was thinking about installing a proximity sensor and a rear facing truck air horn in the engine compartment.
Ron I have the intelligent module it works great ... thinking of putting it on all my cars
I bought a pair of James Franzen's LED brake lights 3 years ago, and they are worth the investment. In addition, he's a nice guy! This subject of his product comes up occasionally. He's an example of a local Midwestern engineer who saw a need, then invented a fix. Like to moan about cheap imported parts flooding the market? Here's your chance to put your $ where your mouth is, and invest in an American product. Not a "seems like" USA product, but the real deal.
JIm from CU layer is coming to the house tomorrow to install my LED brake lights. I'll post before and after pics .
Welcome to the modern lighting world Marty Those are great!!! I love mine!
