I just put the Speedster on the road for the first time yesterday. You can't believe (or maybe...) how nervous I was, going out of sight, and downhill from my home. Then, SHE wanted to drive - can you believe it!? Really though, it was great. Now I'm sitting at my desk, with my car in the parking lot, waiting for those innevitable visitors with the ,"is that your car", line...It's going to be a great day!
Gotta give some credit to Hagerty Insurance. I searched the forum on Insurance, and Hagerty came up on both sides of the 'satisfaction' debate. I called Wednesday, and had insurance Thursday, for $237 /yr.! They were great - give them a call.
I'm also gona give a lot of credit (really, all of it) to God for His provision of all that was needed to get this car done. Yeah, I'm one of those Christian guys, who knows where the credit is due. This wasn't one of those sure things; it definately knocked the budget for a loop, and pressed the family quite a bit. There were a few tears shed as well, believing that it would never finish. 9 mo. later, here we are. When I look around my shop, I can barely find a single tool that it took to get this project complete; all of the important ones were Gods - on loan!

Congrats Tim!

Enjoy it on those beautiful days and even thru the dark rainy days as well. You can sit in the garage and envision those winding roads that lay ahead!

By the way, did Hagerty cover you for the full value of your Speedster? I signed up with them myself, NY state coverage seems to be a little bit higher than most.

Tim,
You mentioned that you were at your desk looking at the car in the lot. Better check the fine print on that collector car insurance policy. I will bet it does not cover the car to be driven to work, or left in a parking lot unattended, or used to commute. It concerns me whenever I see a post about someone with one of those policies, who is using the car the way we use our everyday car. Never mind the question of its value in the event of a wreck. Just don't give them a chance to bail out on you if you have a liability claim against you. Do yourself a favor and read that Haggerty policy very carefully and be sure you are not using the car in a way they don't insure. And; best of luck with it. Congrats !!!
