Length of Pushords on 2110 cc Intermeccanica

Hi

I got a IMC Roadster RS with 2110 cc and have to replace the pushrods (chromo). Does anyone know the length of the pushrods on this type engine (2110 cc; bore 82X90.5 mm) ? Thanx for all ideas and hints.

Why don't you remove the ones in there and measure them?

Did that. Most are 288 mm - one is 287 and one 286 mm. So you could conclude that 288 mm is the optimum. but thats only a maybe. Maybe they are all worn and should be 289 or 290 mm ? With optimum oushrod lenght you should get the best angle on the valve. That was / is my idea.

Put one in (try the 288) and see what the angle of the rocker arm is. George Brown wrote a great post on what to look for and how to see if you're right or not. It was 3, maybe 4 months ago I think. Find that post and you'll know how to set up your pushrod length.

Before you do so, put those back on and get a gauge set up and check your rocker gemetry to see if all is well. After you are sure you have good rocker gemetry, you then can figure out the lengths. You will definitely gain a lot if you do what I say. You will ensure that you are not over loading your valve stems with your rockers causing abnormal and premature wear or sudden failure! You will also actually ensure you have valves opening as close to the advertise valve lifts specs for your given camshaft. Oh yeah, it all also depend on the deck height, compression-based geometries, rocker ratios, etc... so giving a length involves a little more.
