Just had an interesting experience. I jacked up the back of my Speedster with my elderly hydraulic jack to reach into the engine compartment from below to mark the holes for the deck lid hinges. Got under the car and got the two spots marked, but didn’t notice the jack was settling. I tried to slide out and couldn’t! Fortunately, after a bit I was able to lift the back enough to wiggle out. Not pretty! I even checked to see if my mobile was on my pocket so I could call my wife, but didn’t have it! I NEVER would have heard the end of that! Lesson learned…jack stands dipdhit!

We all have done it ...but you're right a lesson learned. I had a friend that was using a floor jack under a dirt track car it also settled in the dirt and the car rolled over his leg. Two weeks later he shows up in a cast to bowl in our league. I immediately posted his new that I gave him..... name " Speed-bump " on the score sheet :~)
Yep, I'll just get under for a minute and then right back out. We've all done it. Glad you escaped with your health and dignity intact!
Nadodave, not sure how the good luck thing works, but if you can accumulate it over time, you should avoid skydiving and helicopter rides for a while.

That would have required some serious luck. If it had gone as bad as it could have I'm not sure you would have even heard the beginning of that conversation.
Glad to hear it ended better than it could have. Lost a high school buddy to that same thing. Jacked up his truck while it was on the lawn in the front yard. The soft grass lost the physics battle. He was found a couple hours later by a neighbor.
This was a first for me, and thankfully the partially constructed Speedster is pretty light. I had a car slowly fall off a bumper jack when I was about 17 so I was able to pull my legs out in time. Evidently, the ensuing 52 years had sufficiently dulled the memory!
