This event was previously the Morro Bay gathering---a fabulous time to be with other SOC folks and O.D. on Speedsters and Spyders. Next April it will move to Pismo Beach which is about 20 miles South of Morro Bay and promises to be another great time.

I went last spring and if I can find some other(s) to caravan with, I'd like to do it again. Both me and my wife felt this was a wonderful experience well worth repeating.

My route would again be from Hot Springs, AR, straight accross I-40
to Bakersfield and rt 58 to San Louis Obisbo then 101 to Pismo. This is a gorgeous run with good roads and services ll the way. Stops might be Amarillo, Gallup and Needles and I know great motels and dinner places at each stop.

Anyone else want to join me and Alice for this?

Hey Bob & Jessica! Good to see your post. We did stop in Barstow ad found the best steak house ---it's been there for 50 years---in a really scarey area of Barstow but we'll definitely go back.

Not my lottery ticket as I've never bought one---made mine the hard way--steady filling the barn over 35 years of work!

See you at Pismo!
I spoke with Marty G. a couple of evenings ago---he is stronglr considering the drive to Pismo next year. Smart to start planning now! He raved about Asheville---I sure hated missing that.

Marty is a long distance driver and drove his metal Porsche to Asheville but drove his VS to Tail Of The Dragon previously. I believe he will surprise us with a new Speedster one day soon--he's definitely in the market. Makes no difference to me what he drives to Pismo--as long as he and Sandy make the trip.

Alice and I recently returned from a wonderful trip to Australia and N.Z. --great trip, but for pure fun I enjoyed last year's West Coast event to Morro Bay--that's why we're planning a redoux.

Anyone else thinking of making the drive next year?

How 'bout it Felix? Tom? Barry? (where is Bear Creek anyway?), Lane?, Hoss?, Aaron?, Richard? Nolan, Leon?, Charles? Kelly?, Others?
FYI for those going to Pismo in June. Father's day weekend (June 18 & 19) Pismo closes down most of the Downtown streets from Price St. to the ocean and has their annual Father's day Car Show. It's quite an event with 600+ cars to look at. I've been 4 ot 5 times but I haven't been for several years. When I did go, it was quite the spectacular event and well worth hanging around after the Speedster event to participate or just look at the cars.

Here's a link to the Chamber of Commerce calendar with information regarding the car show: http://www.classiccalifornia.com/CarShow.htm
