So these are for use during those pesky high speed felony escape police pursuits and when blowing through toll booths when you don't want to pay. (In addition to just being kind of cool.)

I looked at the linked website and the wired and/or wireless remote control option would be my choice. A little like the gadgets on James Bond's Aston Martin. I could mount the machine gun behind the flip down plate system. That should clear traffic at the first full auto burst.

I'll be watching Cops for the products real world debut!

And it's got to be a whole lot less expensive because 'clever & frugal' are Mango Smoothies pride & priorities.

nothing fancy about my front license plate bracket.

it's a beetle one, bent 90 degrees in a vice and bolted on from the bottom of the bumper

Bob:

Mass. doesn't much care where it's mounted as long as it's in front and you can see it.  I already have holes in the nose for a bracket (It's been registered in Mass and RI before and they both required a front plate) so I'll just get something to fit between the nerf bars that looks good and is stable.  The POS bracket I've had since day one is pretty flimsy, shakes a bit and always bends up slightly when I've been on a highway at speed.  Pretty poor and time to upgrade it.
