Among other spring specials, SierraMadre is selling repro Lietz luggage racks for $250.

Includes the mounting hardware. The rubber inserts are sold separately.
Still a good deal
I'd like a rack that would accommodate 2 golf bags
Yeah, 2 golf bags, mean one trailer. lol
Honestly, I have been thinking about this rack for some time but I am not sure I would make use of it, except if I ever got to Carlisle. How secure is it on the rear deck and what weigh is able to be carried. I have enough trunk for a weekend bag even though I have a subie engine. Any comments would be appreciated. Ray
I prefer the other style---the one that Vintage Speedsters sells. It just seems to fit the car better and does the job perfectly. And looks better. (to me).
And it's a better value.

Single man are we?
My trunk is barely large enough for my significant others hair care products.
HaHa, always have a shot gun rider but it is usually my son, we did the California coast line together. My wife is not a long distance roadster lover.
The Lietz is a large rack - bigger than trunk lid. It looks like the hat on the old TV Flying Nun to me. It is authentic though. You do need to reinforce where you mount it on fiberglass trunk lid either with big stainless steel fender washers and/or added fiberglass. It looks cool with antique suitcase and some replica European travel stickers but blocks your rear vision. The VS rack generally won't fit if you have a cast engine grill (CMC) due to width of the mounting bars.
Jim,
You rock. That's all.
Now if someone would repro the Reutter rack in aluminum! Brushed, polished or anodized versions would be nice. Even incorporating a third brake light would be possible. Throw in a set of Dusty Johnson leather straps and you're good to go.
All this talk about racks, and Vince is nowhere to be seen...
As I was typing the initial post, I knew someone would go there Bob.
The only surprise is that it took so long.
And I kept telling myself, "get your mind out of the gutter, Al, mind out of the gutter..."
Ron,
At times like this, I'm embarrassed to be related to you...
How's our other brother doing these days, anyway?
Don't tempt him!
Ron,

That's what mom said to me yesterday!
I haven't heard from brother Ron in a couple of years. He's probably embarrassed to be related to me too.
Jims black car is stunning!!
