.....it will NOT be the same any more. After tomorrow my car will be on the way to it's new owner in Seattle WA. It hurts sooooo bad that words can not even describe it. I know, down the road I will get another speedster but it will NOT be the same. There is a SPECIAL connection between me and that red devil. Mike (new owner) please take care of my baby.

Anyway,I would like to thank all of you for 3 great years as a SOC member and hope to join in soon again . I will still visit this site just to see how things are going. Until then drive, smile and enjoy life.
Red devil I will miss you.

Lambros, except for the color, our cars were nearly twins. One consolation you might take from this is that I get to see it now, assuming of course the new guy gets in on the SOC. There are a few fanatics in the area, specifically British Columbia, but there are a couple in the Portland/Seattle area.

Keep in touch regardless. Conversations come up now and then about an informal gathering and a Grand Slam at one of the Denny's in KC.
Lambros: it's hard to see them go, but another is always down the road. Anyway, a good thing is, you managed the long drive to Carlisle with Steve and it was great to meet you and that you could join us. Hope you had fun.

Just a side story I'd like to share: Lambros sat at our table at the Deer Lodge for Sat.nite dinner. The Deer Lodge happens to be owned by a very nice Greek family. As the owners daughter was taking orders for drinks and got to Lambros, he dropped a few lines in Greek and boy did her eyes light up."Ahh, you're Greek" she said. She then took off for the drinks and the next thing you know Mom came running out and from then on Lambros was "adopted" for the rest of the night. With all the activities and fun with the cars at the field, it was cool to see you get an unexpected touch of home too.

Don't be a stranger, Dude!

Lambros - Considering how much fun you had at Carlisle this year, and how many folks let you drive their Speedies, I think you should make it an annual occassion. That way you can get small doses of the speedster drug to tide you over to the next one of your own - which we fully expect to see at Carlisle in a couple of years.

DO NOT - REPEAT - DO NOT be a stranger around here.
Lambros,
No worries, there are always Speedsters to be had out there. Do what you have to do for you and your family and the rest will come. Of course this is all easy for me to say because I'm not the one shipping my speedster off, otherwise I'd be crying like a little sissy-mary.
Mark your calendar for Carlisle next year. Fly out, I'll pick you up at the airport and you can stay with me. We'll make a day trip to Carlisle and the spend the rest of the time racing my kart. The airport is only a half hour from where I live - think about it, all you have to do is show up! You get to have all the fun and none of the hassle. You can dive my Speedster, race my kart, eat at my restaurants (free) and then just go home when you're done.
See, selling your Speedster isn't that bad afterall now is it?
Lambros,
My morning just took on a pale feeling. I was anticipating December just to have your ride posted for the month. My project will hopefully look very much like your Red Devil. I was looking forward to telling everyone that I personally knew the playmate of the month.
I enjoyed the time we had chatting at Carlisle and, by the way, the crest arrived early this week and it will make a great horn button (when I get the rest of the stuff to make one.)
Stay in touch.
John W.
No need to split, just 'cause the rides gone. Heck, I sold off my Speedster body LONG ago, now I'm all about the real deal, the genuine steel, but they'll have to pry my computer mouse and "bookmark to this place outta my cold dead hand before I'll stop posting . . .

Betcha anything that, once that new venture gets rollin' you opt for a metal coupe and never look back. Park it out front of the business with a magnetic sign on the door advertising the place and write the whole thing off as an advertising expense.

SWEET !

Now quit cryin' and pull up a mouse pad. You ain't goin nowhere.
Sorry that you had to sell Lambros, but please stick around...that way you'll make sure you stay "addicted". By the way, you never told us how the "rebuild" (your engine is new for all practical purposes but needed to be reassembled to take care of some odds and ends) came out. I gather it's working perfect!
