Hello Everybody,

I just bought my first Super Wide Body Speedster, originally made by Vintage Speedster. I am converting all the lights right now to LED. I have trouble to get the turning signal lights working. I tried several electronic flasher and they all don’t work. Looks like I have to just use resistors for that, or does anybody has any suggestion?

On another topic, the lights of my gauges are pretty dim and I would love to upgrade them to LED. Does anybody knows which bulbs the gauges using and how complicated it is to change them out?

By the way, I am originally from Germany and I live in the states now for over 7 years, so pardon my writing.

Thanks

Martin

You may have a polarity issue on the LED flasher units. Incandescent bulbs light either way, they don't care which direction current is flowing. I have had good luck with Audew 2 pin flasher unit from Amazon. 7 bucks, and has a potentiometer to adjust flash rate.

As to dash dimming: voltage variance will not work on LED lights. They need 1.7v to light. Less than that they are dark. More is OK, as long as current is kept in check.

The way to control dash lighting with LEDs is PWM, or pulse width modulation. Or call it duty cycle if you like: you need a device that controls how many times a second the voltage is on versus being off.
