For those who like to dress up when you drive, you might be interested in knowing that Tommy Bahama has recently issued a silk shirt with an artistic representation of the "Lil' Bastard" on the back, with something about George Barris below the picture.
It was the first I had heard about George Barris' involvment with James Dean's Spyder. I live near George Barris' Auto Body Shop, so I stopped in to ask some questions. I think I may have gotten a modified version of the real story, but then I stopped by Aral & Don's Porsche Service in North Hollywood. The fellow there knew quite a bit about the car's history after the crash, the part owner knew the fellow in the passenger seat (who survived the accident) fairly well.
