Just got my tix for the Labor Day weekend at Lime Rock. Anyone else planning on getting there?

I CAN'T MAKE IT.
Just kidding.......I should be there on Saturday, unless something comes up. Would love to find a place to stay out there and show up Sunday, too, but nothing yet.
Yup. Planning on it again. Stayed in Torrington last year about 45 mins. away.
I'm still looking for a place to stay so we can make it, too.
I'd like to do Lime Rock, then meander over to Watkins Glen for the Vintage races the next weekend.
That is right near Ithaca New York... nice small town btw, Cornell U is there.
At Watkins Glen, you'll probably find everything is booked for rooms already within ten or so miles. Try looking in Painted Post, NY, near Corning, someplace close to RT 414 and take THAT up to the Glen. Takes about 20-25 minutes to get to the track.
We stayed here once: Ramada Inn, 66 W Pulteney St, Corning, NY 14830
Decent place and seconds away from RT 414
Gordon: We are okay for the Glen, unless the B&B we always use ends up being sold before September. It's right downtown, great for the Friday events.
So anyone know the deal with the car corrals this year? Last year I ponied up like an extra $15 to park in the circle up top & get a parade lap. This year I did not see that option on the web site...

Go to limerock historic festival porsche corral and scroll down to the bottom-its 20 bucks this year. Hope to see you there.

Got it. I sprang for the British corral on Saturday.
fwiw I also have Sunday and Monday passes. Couple years ago on Monday I had a blast with my brother in law and two nephews. Anyone else planning to return?
Will miss part of Saturday but coming Sunday as well.
Cool. I'm trying to recruit friends and family.
Same as last year, I'll be out on Saturday (only) to arrive around 9am for late breakfast in the Paddock, then cruise the rest of the field for the day.
In-car home movies from Lime Rock, circa 1957.
Might have to make the trip in "Kelvinator", rather than Pearl, due to electrical issues.
Actually, I got within the last week before leaving for the track and was overcome with a "Lane Anderson moment" whereby I tore out half of my electrical system and am in the middle of rebuilding it bigger and better. I Found that running the equivalent of a lawn mower battery through 12 feet of battery cable to power my starter is not necessarily a good thing, so major changes are underway, including moving the teeny-tiny battery to the engine compartment (luckily, it fits nicely) and all the re-wiring THAT entails.
Whether Pearl is ready for this weekend remains to be seen, but I will be there in a white car, no matter what.
I CAN'T BELIEVE I STAYED HOME FROM THIS EVENT TO REPLACE A BUNCH OF STOCKADE FENCE POSTS AROUND MY POOL SO THE FENCE DIDN'T BLOW AWAY IN HURRICANE HERMINE
Now, I finally got them done (took most of the week, solo) and the weather was PERFECT yesterday and today. Bright sunshine, little or no wind.
DAMMIT!
Bob Carley - Will you be out there tomorrow?
Sorry to hear about this, Gordon, but I didn't make it to Lime Rock either.
PM sent.
Missed you both! And also sort of missed Joel and Danny and Lenny! Saw everyone briefly but my sis & bro-in-law and nephew all showed up & we hung out all day. Gave the boy a ride round the track and he endured that deftly.
The plan had been to get the family there on Monday but they came up early and so I went with it. never did get back for Monday even though I'd bought the 3-day pass & the weather was great.
Hope to see you all there next year.
