Good to meet you, Dan. Jen and I enjoyed ourselves, lots of nice cars to look at. Did you get to look at that old '39 Mercedes up close? Awesome that you can basically look at anything you want as close as you want. There weren't as many cars as in previous years, but still a lot of beauties. I guess the economy affects even the rich, eh?

Lots of nice Porsches to look at. Also, nice to meet Eric Johnson(Beck Spyder). I ran into David(onlycafe), he had quite a mishap on Saturday morning. Some woman blew through a stop sign and took the RF corner off his Spyder. I hope he will be made whole with respect to his car, he walked away thankfully.

I can't believe that I missed seeing this post! Marc & I went to Limerock on Sunday for the show! What an event!!! We've decided to make it a weekend next year and make it to some of the races. A friend of ours, Pete Bartelli, won the Best in Class in his Porsche catagory. He has a beautiful 356 Porsche Carrera 2... I have great pics that I'll have to put in later. It was a pale yellow with green interior that was TOTALLY & BEAUTIFULLY restored! Pete is one of our 777 Captains and a great guy! Parked next to him was a Speedster that was the "same" color as our Speedy... I took a pic of the plates and laughed my butt off because our car is 10 times better looking than the one belonging to this tag! (& I'll bet ours is a million times more fun, too!)
Anyway~ a GREAT car weekend... also laughed out loud at one lady with 2 small kids, taking a picture of her husband & kids in one of the "photo op" stops, saying...
"I've had about enough of this car shit!!!"
Seriously~ almost fell over, I was laughing so hard! I don't think she thought it was that funny. Marc said he was sure glad that he married a "Car Chick"... best compliment I could get!!!

Northwest edge of Connecticut, not too far from Poughkeepsie and Millbrook NY. Do a google map for Lime Rock Park, Lakeville CT.

Ha, funny plate, thankfully all the people in Jersey aren't jerks. Well, at least the ones on here are cool, Max, Howard, etc.

If the guy actually thought about it, what/where would his precious Porsche be without VW?

It was really enjoyable to be waived into the Porsche car corral WITHOUT a corral ticket($$$)! Then park next to a doctor with Jersey plates and a puss on his face all day long. Well, actually he parked next to me. The sheer nastiness of these pesky replicars next to his REAL Porsche!

What was really funny was the crowd around the Spyders while his 997 was not even seen. Lots of positive comments, and MANY thumbs up from the track officials, who are all REAL car guys.

Next year, let's make this an event, yes.
Real 356s being afraid of being mistaken for VWs; VWs masquerading as P-cars; guys spending their whole adult lives making sure the numbers match. It is a strange (and wonderful) world. I see a lot of cool rag-top cars running about: BMWs, Boxters, Miatas, and so on, and most of the drivers are very proud of their machines, and no harm there. And I go by in my Speedster and some wave, some don
Geez, Dan - I'm REALLY sorry that I couldn't make it for this. Wanted to, but just couldn't make it.

However! If anyone is interested in coming to the Hilton Head Island Concours d'Elgance, come a couple of days early and go to the Historic Racer Track Day at the track on Hutchinson Island in Savannah.

October 30, 31 and Nov 1'st Track day Friday, Oct. 30.

I won't have a car there this year, but I'll be there with the Beaufort club.
