Joel, If you have your speedster you can park in the Porsche corral and walk any where along the track or paddock . There are no grand stands or seating. One ticket  lets you walk all over the whole place. It's very hilly around the track so you can go from point to point and see the whole damn thing, great venue.  And they have beer!

speedster is ready and so am I. Three buddies  are coming with me-one in the car and two on motorcycles.Limerock is 100 miles from my house. We're going to meet for breakfast in Ft. Montgomery (near West Point) then cross the Hudson at the Bear Mt. bridge and head on up on back roads. I need a bigger engine to keep up with my

friends Hayabusa. See you there.

What a gorgeous day yesterday! Lenny and I showed up and met the Gallos, Dan O'Connell, Peter Venuti, Joel Abraham, Pete's friend Bruce in a Boxster, and my 911 friend Mike and his lady. Two unknown guys from NYC showed up in a Spyder(Vintage) and left right after the parade lap, weird. Carl Berry was there too, but I never saw him unfortunately.

All sorts of Porsches, Masers, Coopers, Lotuses(Loti?), Alfas, Mgs, etc. Enough to make you drool.

So there we all are, standing in the pits checking out Moss' Porsche RS-60, and up pulls his beige OSCA, with Moss driving! He gets out with some help, and is thronged with people after about 20 seconds! One of those right place/right time moments....

I put over 200 miles on the car yesterday, ran great, no humidity, top-down bliss!

Anyway, great to see everybody, and I wish more could have made it!

Man, sorry I missed that. I used to live in CT and have never been to Lime Rock. Looks like a great place to hang out, and a great track.

So I wonder: you Porsche replica guys are welcomed into the Porsche paddock, but what about us Chimera guys? Bridget looks enough like an MG TD to get a pass from the gate keeper at MGs On The Rocks, but I wonder how she'd be received at Lime Rock. Is there an MG paddock? Would I be able to sneak in with you guys? Or if not, how far away to park with the Hyundais?

I just read Danny's post and I agree-Sat. at Lime Rock was a great day.I hope I met everyone from SOC who was there. There were  three spyders and at least five speedsters parked in Porsche heaven. I saw several original 356 coupes parked in the general parking area. Touring the pits was a great experience and the races were fun to watch. We did three parade laps on the track-too slow but I did some NASCAR style tire warmups to amuse my friends who were watching. My tub ran great-200 miles mostly at 70mph and it got 30mpg.

Had a great day at LimeRock. I initially had a bit of anxiety because this is the first time I ventured beyong tow truck distance. But the Vintage handled that scenic juant, growling and snarling through the curves and hills without a burp or a rattle...I'm so damn pleased!!

Did some bench racing with Abraham and O'Connell (Semper Fi new friend) Somehow missed Lenny and Danny but managed to wave at Heidi and Al. Took some dramatic low angle photos of Venuti's roadster and my speedster respectfully snuggled in with tons and tons of high end 911's. The 356's and a smooth 550 drew a lot of admirering attention...far beyond their few numbers. Next year we need more people and, if possible, convice the organizers to group our breed together in the corral.

It's going to be itchy waiting a whole year before I can get back to another terrific LimeRock shindig for an encore!

WOW!!  WHAT A DAY.  IT WAS SO MUCH FUN I WENT BACK ON MONDAY. BY MY COUNT WE HAD 8 SOC MEMBERS INCLUDING WIVES NICE TURN OUT BUT WE CAN DO BETTER NEXT YEAR. THE VINTAGE RACES ARE NOT ONLY ABOUT SEEING GREAT RACE CARS ON THE TRACK BUT WALKING THROUGH THE CAR CORRALS IS A FABULOUS CAR SHOW AS WELL. YOU NAME IT , ITS THERE. IT WAS GOOD TO SEE EVERYBODY.  SEE YA  DAN

It was great to see old friends and some unbelievable cars. Sorry we didn't catch up with you guys, Carl and Joel. It's a big place and it's easy to get lost in the cars and people. Heidi got a few good shots of Sterling Moss pulling up in his race car and carefully extracting himself before the throngs closed in. We watched the last race from the parking lot and bugged out.Top down, 65 miles of back road home on a beautiful New England evening. It doesn't get much better than that. Thanks for including us. Pencil us in again next year.
