I was watching the race during "Happy Hour" last night. Would have been very cool if Mark Webber could have won it for Porsche.
Of all the different races, this is the one I would really love to see live.
I would have LOVED it if Fox Sports would have had ALL of the LeMans coverage on the same channel for the duration of the race.
I'm OK with coverage dropping out during the night-time hours (you can't see a whole lot at LeMans at night, anyway, unlike Daytona which is far smaller and lit up like daytime all night) but you get a couple of hours on "Fox SP1", then it hops to "Fox SP2" for a while (which ain't high def, folks), then goes somewhere else or they tell you to go to "Fox Go" on your computer (which I've never had much luck with).
How I long for the old days of the "Speed Channel" when they just gave you constant coverage all day long.
Still, even with the crappy coverage in the US, it was nice to see the race, to be crestfallen when Porsche had to drop out and be cheered when they interviewed drivers I know and have spotted for. The racing comeback of Aston Martin in the past five years is eye-popping....Maybe we'll be spotting for an AM car at the next Daytona Rolex!
Road racing - That's where it's at! Too bad we have to hunt through our 500 channels to find it. Next time, I'll look on Amazon or find a European internet channel covering it and log in through a Euro server!!
