For those who just need a place to run to....

This Saturday is the Hermosa Beach Car show, at the pier...05/05/12, I have the T-bird entered...

This Sunday is the Edelbrock show 05/06/12 in Torrance 220th st & Crenshaw, Edelbrock has their old race cars out on display, I'm not entered, but it's a cool thing to see....lots of Horse Power to see...

Next Saturday is the George Barris Car show downtown Culver City, 05/12/12, I have the tub entered...very wild customs as you can imagine, Barris is usually walking around signing autographs...

I leave for Intercourse on the 17th, I get a chubby just thinking about it....

George Barris is still alive!!

He and his brother Sam operated out of a crummy four bay cinderblock garage on Atlantic Avenue in Lynwood when I was a kid. I'd pause on my paper route and marvel at the '50 Mercurys being 'chopped'...'52 Ford headlight rims being 'frenched' into Chevy fenders. No Bondo. It was all lead and paddle finish work!

And that was nearly 60 years ago!!
