Model A Dave called early Saturday morning and talked me into doing a Lions Club Benefit show in a nearby town.  I expected to see a few dozen cars there, but there must have been close to 300!  Not only was I the only 356, but I was the only Porsche at all!  I got to park next to a recently restored "MUSBJIM-style"  Westfalia van.  So here are some interesting cars, captioned:

This is Dave's Model A.  This one is mostly stock, but with a different torque tube (driveshaft) and rear end because of the Overdrive gearbox behind the transmission.  You could fit half the neighborhood in there at the Drive-In and still have room for a buffet.  Nice Audi R8 behind it, too!  There was an older (all relative to me these days) couple in the Model A roadster next to Dave and they never got out of their car, once!

I've known Dave since Kindergarten.  Good wrench, but even more CDO than me!

I thought the juxtaposition of these two cars was more than interesting.  Wasn't "Judge Orange" the same as Chevy's "Hugger Orange"?

Here's one for Lane.  I know what this is, and I'll tell you that it's a 1952, but that's all.  What is it?

Yes, even "Lightning McQueen" was there.....  I never knew he was a Viper!

This was pretty cool and I had seen it while it was being constructed.  It is an all steel, completely hand made '30 roadster with a Jaguar V12 engine.  The guy learned metal working at Wray Schelin's Pro Shapers workshop.  He said the easiest part was the chassis.  I believe it.
