I recently bought a 1956 speedster kit car project , made by CMC. It's a 4 cylinder engine, dual carbs. I would like to confirm the engine for parts/servicing... already note vacuum? lines not connected. Thanks. The number I got off the fan housing, 9011061015R does not seem to match engine types. Thank-you, shepjane@yahoo.com

The engine serial number is a good start - but you'll still need to check out the distributor and carb model numbers as after 30+ years they are probably not original. And who knows what was done internally. One ought to demand that when an engine is built it comes with a complete list of parts used (like Engle 110 degree cam, Mahle 87mm forged pistons and sleeves, etc along with compression ratio set as 7.7). This info is necessary for determining timing and tune up parts like spark plugs (short or long reach?)
